How to create category/Forum in phpBB3 ?

    Hello Friends

    I just installed phpBB3 but not able to create category/forum in that. If I did than they are not appearing on the forum.

    Kindly help and also tell me whether I should go with phpBB3 or SMF. I prefer free forum now.

    Please help ... as soon as possible.

    Login to the Admin CP and click "Create Forum".

    Thats not working mate ... I have tried every option but forums created but not showing in forum main page. I do not know what went wrong ?

    Permissions ! Check the permission setting of the forums you are creating. The easiest way is to copy the permission of the default welcome forum /category. And from there on you can alter it according to your personal need. If you still need help, shoot me a pm and i will have a look at it.

    Yeah with the change of permission I am able to see those categories. But now tell me how to withdraw the signature and stick option from the registered user option (I selected standard option with poll)

    Please help

    ACP > Permission > Groups Forum Permission > Regsitered User

    Select All forum, then click on "Advanced permissions".

    Click "Post" Tab and select "No" for 'Can post stickies'.

    Now to disable signature click on "Content" tab > 'Can use signatures' select NO.

    The Click on Apply all Permission.

    Log in into your administration panel.
    Click on the tab forums.
    create a new forum with the button on the left that is called ; Create new forum
    call the forum what you want but you choice on Forum type: category.
    After you done that you create again a new forum, but you choose then whit the forum type ; forum.
    And parent-forum the forum that is a category so what you have just created.
