I know many guys do this - including myself - we watch products and see how they perform. I personally do it for part marketing experience (I.E personal case study) & part 'fun' to see if my predictions come true. I was just wondering if anyone would like to put thei .02 in with me and 'predict' what will happen to Everloss? My personal opinion is this: What do you guys think? R
overall, people are in a lousy mood . They have lost money in stocks,401k, their home value has gone down and some have even lost their jobs. Most people indulge in mindless eating or eating fast food as a way to deal with the pressures around them. When the economy and everything else gets back on track, these folks will be looking to get back in shape. By then, due to the large number of affiliates, Everloss enjoys, the product might be in heavy demand. People dont like to exercise or diet. They just feel happy in that, they are actively seeking info to control their weight. So piling on the books, pages, dvds, worksheets, binders etc might just work.
I think it is going to do well over time. It will take a while for it to catch up to some of the big guys in the ClickBank health category but NC seems like a pretty determined guy and he has some great affiliate materials and good affiliates so its possible. I think people looking to lose weight bounce between a bunch of different diets and most never stick to one for any amount of time looking for that magic pill. Everloss may sound more complicated but desperate people will still give it a shot and the overall product looks good.
For me, all NC Media products look great. Excellent sales pages, perfect graphics, quality ebooks/software, but for some reason only few of them become "average gravity". (Tracer for example) Everloss is just amazing, in my opinion, and I won't be surprised, if it climbs up quickly.
I said it before and I will say it again, from now until just after christmas is the worst time for weight loss products. The search volume cliff drops around this time. Not to mention the economy issues which will certainly impact things. I think this one is going to under achieve out of the gate until new years... Then I am sure the sales will pile in. Strip that fat launched a month or two ago and got up to 120 gravity now, and they have triple the affiliate army Norb has, and a TON of affiliate material. You can generate your own landing page, already hosted, with a subdomain with tracking through their site in less than 5 minutes. But Norb's product definitely does look better than the rest, but is this market really looking for this much information?
Agree with what most of the people said above. I haven't promoted everloss myself for these same reasons. Honest opinions on Everloss: Sales page has way too much graphic, most of which I find unnecessary. It just confuses me. I don't know where to look next with all these graphics all over the place. Sales page has too much of a commercial-ish feel to it - I guess I feel this way because of all the random people showing off how much weight they've lost, lol. Just seems like a bunch of skinny people purposely wearing clothes that don't fit them. I think it might be a bit better if their names were mentioned, testimonial, etc. I just think all these graphics takes away from the more personal feel of the sales page. The picture of the doctor near the top seems awkward. Looks like she's just there to take up space. Sales letter doesn't mention who she is (name, etc.) what she does, or for that matter, why she is even on the page, lol. Too much highlighting. Personally find it annoying to read the sales page with the overuse of that highlighting effect. Too much material being put on offer. Fat people are fat for a reason - they're lazy. I don't think the amount of material being offered would particularly help in this case. It'll probably make them feel overwhelmed. I don't know.. but I doubt anyone who buys Everloss will manage to read EVERYTHING. Maybe a small percentage will, but the larger percentage is what we're concerned about. I could be completely wrong about this whole point though. I am by no means a copywriter. This is just my personal opinion, and basically what I think of the page/product from a customers point of view. Nothing against Norb either. I don't think it will go as far as 100 gravity. My prediction is it will end up at around 40-60, eventually.
I agree 110% about every point you made. This is exactly what I thought when I first saw the efficient planet page, and now everloss. Just too much bling that makes you feel like this product is being over hyped. I think if things don't go as well as expected, and by how often I am seeing the pages and price change over night (I think that could be why neither are over 10 gravity yet...) we may have a legitimate case This could be a good lesson for not only Norb but all of us if the stats don't lie.
I personally think efficient planet and everloss have too much going on. EL has banners throughout the page that just link to a few inches down the page.. Not sure about that. There are quite a few things I would change on the sites but we will see what happens. Gravity is a good indicator. Swerd
I think some rapid changes need to be made for this to take off. Norb will make these changes in time and he'll only benefit from doing so and become a better publisher. The other changes will happen in actual time. Norb cannot control these. Basically Norb just has to hope that everyone gets fat at Christmas then come online for a solution. It's almost so easy to predict. People get fat then spend more money to learn how to lose the fat. I've got a nice landing page set up for this and am not rushing into PPC or anything. I'll just let the backlinks keep coming and keep expanding my site Once Norb finalises the sales page, which may take several weeks to perfect, and the market for this product hit home I think he'll have a winner on his hand.
Weight loss products, to me, are more like the MMO niche than any other cure product. This, mostly because you don't offer an upfront solution, method or whatever. You offer a secret, mysterious plan and lead your chunky quarry through paragraph after paragraph of your sales copy that screams at them to lose weight and how much better an ebook would be than if they actually spent that time per day running around their block. Most of them are so sick of being humiliated due to their bulk that any solution other than the most obvious (exercise) will do. This applies to everyone from the porky teenager in his room fantasizing the girl he'd like to date but doesn't have the money or motivation to hit the gym, to the mother of three that wants to fit back in her jeans that she had 15 years ago. All of them only read your page out of desperately wanting to realize their desire, and sick as I feel saying this, it's what you need to capitalize. In-depth reviews and scientific facts will only take you so far. Give them another person to relate to that has realized their dreams of shredding their fat and your target base will jump at it. I noticed this when I created a page once to sell a fat burning pill that offered me decent money. I thought about it for a while and made this page adding only four lines at the end of the standard pitch and gave it to the lists I hire....it worked, extremely well, and some of the emails I got from my clients asking for refunds were the most terrible things I've read in my life, one damn near broke my heart and made me swear to myself never to promote crap I haven't seen for myself first. If you actually read all that, congrats, and if you haven't, let me sum up by telling you you cannot sell to this market using reasoning and logic, all that has flown out the window the second they clicked on your link-not out of scientific curiosity but out of desperation. Make use of it if you will, but know that you may get a good price but it's cost upon you and your karma will be a lot worse, so please promote products with discretion and sincerity. Also tell your customers that the product will not always work, although it has been tested numerous times. That saves you the muttered curses of many a pudgy individual around the globe, which is something.
Wow. Excellent post. I agree with everything you said, especially dealing with having potential customers relate to someone who struggled like they are and ended up having success. I'm kind of in a unique position with promoting weight loss products, since I myself was on the other side of the equation a few years back looking to lose weight. So, through my blog, I'm sure that people can feel a great sense of sincerity through my posts showing them what has worked for me with weight loss, and then with recommending them products, etc.
Im promoting. I reckon it will climb right after xmas. The one best thing, that throughout my skim reading I havent seen anyone mention.. Its a timeless niche. What if there was a global fat crisis? And the worlds government wer piling in billions to make us all thin.. everLoss to the rescue. FTW
I don't know enough about everloss to say it's going to be massive or not. But there is a huge difference between being in a "timeless niche" and having a "timeless product". If there was a global crisis on fat loss, how does that place everloss ahead of hundreds of thousands of other products?
As most people mentioned already, its a great product but it seen to be way too much in general terms. Fat loss is a huge market with lot of big competition especialy offline companies selling pills and supplements. On the other hand fat people are generally lazy (hello? why you think they are fat?) and they want an easy solution to their problem. To this regards "fat loss for idiots" make it look so damn simple to loose fat(hence the title, fat loss for idiots!) - therefore it got sales since people think its easy. Everloss seen to be a better overall product to loose weight, but after reading the sales page you get the impression that its a fitness course or something that require effort - most fat people will not buy because of this. Because fat loss is a huge market, one important point is that it got lot of competition from offline companies that advertise via ppc networks and have the spending power of thousands of pounds daily - you can expect lot of expensive clicks and entering in that market is not a decision to be taken lightly. But still, ncmedia has lot of experience and loads of affiliates, he sure knows whats hes doing and i doubt that he just dived into such a huge market without testing and doing proper research first
Wow guys, AMAZING THREAD THANK YOU ALL. At the end of the day, I don't care as much about it being a pretty site or overdelivering content, as much as I care about conversions and keeping the family happy - so every single one of these points is being taken into consideration over the next few days. Keep the feedback coming - I don't mind my programs getting ripped apart as it helps me shape them. Thanks for everyones honesty!! N.
I just thought it would be "fun" to dig up this topic because it's almost 7 months since the last post and we can see what happened! EverLoss did not achieve a gravity higher than 12 and IMO that is below average - by average I mean for products that are actually good and have content to offer not the 90% of the CB products. As I'm trying to figure out what products to promote next I dug myself into this topic a bit and was lucky to stumble upon this thread that explained why people of the "fat loss" niche don't buy this good quality product (because they're waiting for a miracle and they don't want to buy anything that tells 'em to change their miserable life by eating healthy and exercising every day...). Actually this is a good study of human psychology IMO.
Having great graphics does not guarantee a successful product. Otherwise all web designers would be filthy rich
well yeah but in this case i really dont think its just goodlooking graphics. well the market has decided so i dont waste my breath on this one.. we'll have to stick with good ol' fl4i
