friends, please tell me still the google directory submission useful for increase our PR. I've heard since there are a thousands of out going links in a directory the weight you gain from a directory backlink is very low. Do you agree? please comment.
Depends how many you submit to i think, and what you combine it with, if you look at a mixed effort to increase your pr it should be quite satisfactory. So directory submissions with other mothods too Its still good for seo.
I would concentrate more on traffic, directories will bring you 0 traffic unless you are listed in DMOZ, so I would not worry about those.
Agree . I have submitted my blog to a lot of directories . I found directory submission was very useful for my blog .
If you are choosing correct titles, using a good description (and variety of descriptions) and submitting to right categories where other related websites are present, directory submissions to 'dofollow' directories can still do wonders for a website's SEO. Unfortunately they don't work for high competition keywords that well
Submit directory still usefull for SEO, but it slow effect. Social Bookmark is better than quick for trafic.
Directory submissions is not dead and still a good way to get backlinks and a lot depends to quality of the directories that you are submitting your sites to.
It's still effective but you must mix the type of links you are getting. Get some from blogs, some from forums, paid links and article directories. Combine all of this and you should see improvement on SERPS.
Directory still use full no doubt about it but that but sometimes it take a month for the directory to approve your link.
Hello... I suppose that if it wasnt then SEOs would be limited to only doing on page optimization and very few other options. The fact remains that directories arent going away and not everyone wants to use PPC so directories are still the best choice in building backlinks and depending on niche then traffic also. laterz malcolm
You don't submit to directories for PR. You submit to directories for back links that will improve your serp's. And you will never get quality links from a high PR directory. They are just too expensive. The real value of any link lies in its long term prospects. Place your link today and then leave it to grow and mature. The older it get the more virile it becomes.
The trick is to find cheap directories with a minimum of PR4. That's what I do. It might not give you traffic but it gives you a stable and good PR and makes it easier to sell adds etc.
A one month old link is one month old. Just as a three year old link is three years old and thats where the real value lies in any link. The questions you should be asking when building back links concern the long term prospects and growth potential of the link you are placing. High PR sites that are selling links are not good prospects at any price.
