Why don't many people promote hosting products?

I saw the gravity of Lonex at about 3.62. For me promoting hosting was very succesfull with my portfolio offering hosting. I get like $50 per sale. You could be a resseller without actually buying the hosting, how great is that!

I was thinking this the other day. Problem is, web hosting sells at around 5-10 bucks a month for hosts like hostgator that oversell. If we got 75% of that we'd need to make 100 sales a month to get a decent income. If we got the recurring $7 or so a month it would be nice, but many people would cancel the hosting so we wouldn't get much after a month or so.

there are tons of affiliates promoting hosting product and now its saturated. Most of them prefer CJ network because of fat commission.

I'm not sure if there's any hosting products on CB, but as Robert25 says CJ has many hosting products, hosts such as hostgator pay out $50 or so per sign up, but I don't think you see that money for at least 2 months of the customer being registered. It's quite high payouts but I don't think it's any where near as simple as being credited for your sales as CB is.

Hosting is one of the most competitive and expensive niches. It's so expensive because the entire market is bundled up in a limited amount of keywords.

Compare how many keywords you can find for hosting, compared to weight loss.

On top of that all the big hosting companies are already dominating the major keywords and PPC game. I have a buddy that works at one of the top hosting companies and they spend a ridiculous amount of money on adwords each year.

Is that right, just been checking their affiliate page and it says $50/sale for 1-5 sales in a month, need to make 11+ in a month for $100.

OR are you getting higher commission elsewhere?

    Cool

I was looking at the hostgator site, so CJ is the way to go instead of their very own affiliate offer. That is a bit dumb really.

Need to look into this one. Thanks for the heads up.
