I provide web hosting and run all of my own business websites off of it too. Just like you, my online business requires that it be reliably hosted. TravSolutions.com if you are interested. PM me if you have any questions.

I will be honest, Hostgator is a good host too though. :)

Well from experience as people emigrate from Host Gator pretty much say the same thing over and over, you can't use what they give you. It's pretty much rigged so that you get sucked in and then probably somewhere in their terms they say space and bandwidth is not guaranteed and just an estimate.

Overall, don't go with Host Gator cause overselling = possible issues and or problems. If you want more than 20 GB disk space and 250 GB Bandwidth, then shared is NOT for you, a VPS or Semi Dedicated would suite you then, or even a server if necessary ( rare for one site, but who knows how popular you will get).

If you have any questions feel free to ask, I've got plenty of experience from my own hosting company.

There is a lot of blog posts about HostGator on the internet but maybe thats because there affiliate rate is quite high. But yeah I advise them. They recently upgraded all shared plans to unlimited space!

Hostmonster/Bluehost (same owner) are ok. I think support at hostgator is better if you are looking for low cost shared hosting.

My advice, don't even get into shared hosting (those cheap ones).

    Use dedicated servers or VPS.

    I can recommend http://www.vpslime.com/

    Quality service and staff.

I use media temple DV (dedicated virtual - a kind of VPS)
which I think are quite good ...
I have been with them for almost a year.
