    Poindexter Endorses GOP Ticket
    Oct 23, 2008 - UP Wire
Despite having long supported Democrats (and specifically black cats), renowned scientist and precocious intellectual "Poindexter" has in a shocking reversal of tradition announced he will endorse the McCain/Palin ticket.

As many know, Poindexter has been friends with Felix the Cat for over 40 years, and as expected this news has caused a rift in their relationship.

Does this Signal a Shift in Cartoon Loyalties?
The verdict is still out. Poindexter's announcement wasn't entirely a surprise, as Rocky the Squirrel, Underdog, Mighty Mouse, Dudley Doorite, and George of the Jungle had already led the way of Toons for McCain.

On the other side, Bullwinkle, though initially a McCain supporter, was violently opposed to staying in the camp as his Moose Rights party defected en masse after the announcement of Sarah Palin as the VP candidate. "Face it" said Bullwinkle... "this is a civil rights issue we just couldn't ignore".

Meanwhile other noted cartoon characters such as Boris and Natasha, Snydley Whiplash, both Pinky and the Brain, and Alec Baldwin have long been firmly entrenched in the Obama camp, although several have publicly objected to Baldwin's presence. Their objections were summed up by Pinky... "Every time that dimwit leaves Hollywood to come to our meetings in New York he lowers the average IQ of both states."

Figure if we're gonna get a new thread for each and every person that endorses Obama I oughta throw in a few of my own. I figure this one means about as much as all the others. Kinda sorry we lost Linsey Lohan though, she'd have been a lotta fun at the parties. ;)

I want to reply, but since it has to do with the election, I feel my post deserves a whole new thread.

p.s. I am pretty sure Felix is just voting for Obama because he is a black cat.

I beg to differ on that. Cats are color blind. :)

LOL - kudos, Rob, very funny. :D

That said, point taken. Maybe we could get a "running tally" thread of endorsements going. I do not think the endorsements of Colin Powell and Kenneth Adelman are inconsequential as Felix's sandpaper-voiced Prof.

And Felix really wigged me out as a kid. Usually, associated with febrile days home from school, delirious. Thanks a bunch.

Edited to add: Man, moving quick. Xphic points out that Reagan appointee Charles Fried has given the nod to Obama:

It really has been a tremendous bleed for McCain, and it isn't looking up.

Yeah, brilliant move. I especially lke the backwards "B" scratched into her face - from looking in the mirror. Top notch job, lady, really put it to the Obama campaign with that one.

If this had happened in the "other camp," I have no doubt there'd be a small but vociferous cadre of folks screaming "Obama's supporters are trying to end democracy as we know it!!!!"

She is just a sad case of someone with mental problems. She says nothing about the McCain campaign.

It is always somewhat humorous when people try to write on their own faces and do it in a mirror. Makes me think of a trinket I have (got it at some trade show years ago pretty cheap) - something called a true mirror. It is two mirrored glass pieces set at an exact 90 degree angle. You can't even see the line between the two panes of mirror and it looks like a regular mirror. It is set in a box. When you look into the mirror you see a true look at what others see when they look at you, not a mirrored image. If you hold your left hand up, the left hand of the person in the mirror goes up - unlike a normal mirror. It is a bit disconcerting, but very interesting.

When a married man looks in a mirror, the man looking back has his wedding ring on the right hand, not the left - this mirror shows in correctly. It also shows your face, the part in your hair, scar, etc, very differently that you think you look. When I first got it I would stare at it in amazement.

I agree - and so far, I'm glad I haven't seen an attempt to pin this on the McCain camp generally. I do think that if the situation had been reversed, based on what's been seen throughout the season, we'd very likely see an attempt to make a firestorm out of this. I could be wrong.

she represents the effect of Mccain camp on his weak minded [with minor mental problems] supporters She works for the campaign. how come nobody noticed her going over the edge. Both got to be careful of how far they take their motivations. Now they use psychological tricks [hand movement and such] to enhance their message. This should be a red flag

by the way the b is not necessarily backward. it could also be upside down. I made no judgment on her.

She no more represents the McCain camp than her fictional attacker would have represented the Obama camp.

Please give it a rest. Do you expect them to vet every volunteer before they let them give time? When you focus on crap like this and ignore the big issues it makes you look foolish and ignorant.

There's a really good word to describe this but I'm not going to use it.

please don't twist my word and don't tell me what to do. yes they have to make sure they do not have crazies and criminals in their group. These people come in contact with citizens during their assignments. It is not a political issue at all. It is a human resource management issue.

It is your logic that is twisted.

I speak my mind as I please. If you don't want people to comment I would suggest not posting in public forums.
