From Nr.1 ranking in Goggle to 65th result lol

Hi.
My website was ranking 1st for a term which returned 90.000.000 results, but all of a sudden (and i mean that instantly) it felt down to the 6th page (65th result).

I was not happy when i saw this, but can anyone actually tell me why this happened?

I can try and figure out if you tell me the following:

website url
keyword
it is google.com or some local version of google like google.co.uk

 

You may have been penalized or temporarily slapped.

Were you using any blackhat methods to get ranking at no.1 ?

 

It is on google.com and also on some other international google sites (.be, .si...)
i havent been using any blackhat to get to top...

This is very unfortunate that you have got penalized in google as google is very sensitive search engine if you as seo or any form your development team have placed some not theme based links then it is also possible as please check whom you are linking back is all the sites whom you are linking back is form you theme i.e electornic and gadgets.

 

like everyone says it sounds like youve been penalized, check the inbound links to see if any of those not effecting.

 

check google analytics....your suite may have been hacked or you just got the google slap

 

Did you do something like getting more than 500 backlinks in a day?It happened to me once.More than 300/day isn't recommended.

 

If it was a new site, then it's not unusual for it to get an unnaturally high position temporarily, before it settles. If that is the case, than I'm afraid it was the 1st place that was the anomaly.

 

I know the same story about the site that was #1 in Google SERP for 2 weeks and now is not found by Google at all. The interesting fact about it is that it's still #1 at Yahoo

 

Same here. i am still number 2 or 3 in yahoo and msn !!
website was at top of google for at least 3 months...
now is down to 6 or 7th page.

How long will it be penalized? can i get back up?

 

Is this including adding a link in signature with 500+ posts? I ask this question because I observed that when I add a link to one of my websites in my signature in this forum, it gets back in Google after few days.

 

google ranks are always jumping around, give it some time and see if it returns to normal

 

Wouldn't it be great if we could just FREEZE all the rankings so that nothing ever changed?

 

This is due to high competition of the keyword you target. If you're site is new, it can only be a temporary ranking. Because the big g give boost to fresh content on their rankings.
