I mistakenly paid $14.40 per click on Adwords

A few days back I came back to Google Adwords after a while away. To my suprise, the system has changed drastically.

Even though I took my time to study it thoroughly, I still ended up making a mistake that cost me $14.40 per click and I had 6 clicks which equalled $86.40. I mistakenly set my MCP to $30 instead of $0.30.

Terrible mistake but I'd like to say I've learned from it and I guess I was being too careful.

I am determined to make my money back and could use some tips on that. Please, anyone...?

Yea it sucked really bad. But it did give me some sort of drive to make it back though. So I'm going all out with internet marketing within the next few weeks as it was a hard earned cash for a student like me -but with more care this time :)

BTW, PPCInformer thanks for your contribution. I think the $14.40 went to Google cos I turned off "content option". There goes one way Google makes its money...lol

That's a real pain of your pocket. I hope you can get back that money through conversion of whatever you're selling or promoting in your site. Move on, Mate.

Yea adwords is becoming a pain this days but webmasters still need their traffic so they will do what ever it takes, if you paid more for clicks send them an email, they might even do a refund.

Also another thing that I always do is double check each one of my campaigns and make sure that the amounts are always correct, I have seen webmasters lose hundreds and even thousands with little mistakes like that.

Thanks for the tip Netmaster123. This happened within an hour or so of setting the campaign live so that was weird. I started double checking thorough again even though i did before the incidence. I'll see if I can get them to refund me.

As I keep saying in these types of threads . . . That's nothing. I spent £45.64 ~$85.00) on one click once. It hurt! However, I managed to get a refund, so all was OK. :)

knight4040 - I read the instructions before using it...it was just a typo and it happened very early in the morning while I had sleeping eyes. So I guess that contributed.

Masterful - thanx...I'm trying to get a refund now. Didn't know I could until this thread.

I've wasted around 50-60$ that way, It happens to everyone, don't worry too much about it, get over it.
There was another very experienced PPCer, who also missed a few decimals, and in one night lost over 1000$

Sure, you can. Just explain how you made a silly mistake and they'll refund you. :)

What niche was it. Must be a big one to be competitive enough to charge you $14+ per click.

If you can explain the situation to the support staff, then you can get the refund. Try to explain precisley.
