The RNC also spent $4,716.49 on hair and makeup in September, presumably for Palin. http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=6090319&page=1
Haha they were saying the same thing on msnbc I believe it was. They want her to be folksy but at the same time don't want her and her family looking like frumpy yokels who just rode in on a moose. Not very Vice Presidential.
How many votes can Obama buy with 750 million dollars? You do have a point. The Republicans got tired of seeing flannel on the campaign trail and thought a new ward robe was in order.
people want him to win. she should have paid for it. ethic issues all over the place. just another reminder to love your she-chaney
homes next year hopefully http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7y-x2fWKbmo he has so much money. even 10M is nothing. Mccain is just too small for this time in history and the GOP is broken.
10 million is nothing? What if McCain would win? Would he be too small then? I don't think McCain will win but he may depending on voter turn out or lack there of.
How many six packs does it take to equal the $150,000 spent on Mrs Palin and family....so they can look as expensive and elegant as the uber wealthy McCains? Seriously, how would the elegantly coiffed and clothed Mrs Palin react, after going to the most expensive stores, if Joe Six Pack puked on one of her mult-thousand dollar dresses, after a few too many beers?
Surprisingly few actually. Stephen Dubner and Steven Levitt reviewed this very question in their book "Freakonomics". They found that, contrary to popular belief, spending large amounts of money on campaigns affects votes by a very small percent (under 5% if I remember correctly), with increasingly diminishing returns on investment. There's a lot of other good stuff in the book and worth a read through. That's beside the point though. You seem to be implying that Obama is buying people off with campaign funds, which isn't true. He's using campaign funds to...um...campaign. Unless the definition has changed, I don't think campaign equates to "buy votes". But if it does, how many votes can McCain "buy" with $360 million? My guess somewhere between 39-45% of likely voters.
Its sort of wierd. They probably could have shopped at 100 different stores for quality clothes that would have cost dramatically less than $150,000. I guess it would have been too "6 packageish" to go to women's wear stores that charged less. Cripes, even knowledgeable shoppers call Nieman Marcus, Needless Markup. I guess the Republican National Party and the leaders of the Party like to say one thing to the public at large and then do something totally different.....such as solicit Joe Six Pack on the one side....then spend money like Donald Trump and Paris Hilton. A regular store probably doesn't serve them wine while they are shopping. In fact last time I was at Walmart or Costco I don't remember anyone offering me wine while I shopped.
I was just listening to talk radio and they also were talking about the shopping spree. They stated that the Republicans and the Democrats use campaign money to buy clothes. They stated that the female politicians and spouses of the candidates usually donate the clothes to charity.
was this a right wing nut job radio host. If they use their own campaign fund it is against the law. the other factor is that the pugs are running as they are different but all i see is dishonesty, abuse of power, and lies
OMG.. you could get so much stifff from here so many PR links .. lol.. dont wast it on clothes give it to DP members..
Yeah it was a right wing nut job radio host. NPR. they are big and I mean big supports of the McCain/Palin ticket. NPR is well known for their dishonesty, abuse of power, and lies..
homes are you going to vote for Obama? It seems that most of your questions are answered. and it has become obvious that mccain/palin are not ready. can you imagine if an issue arises from a country that mccain haven't been to. He first have to go and make a visit, so he knows what he is talking about. Oh no i have to go to stupidestan . I need more experience. lol
I am waiting for one of the candidates to convince me to cast a vote for them. When I cast for McCain it is due to the fact he added Palin. Her economic ideas, stance on the issues and high moral standards won me over. I think the person was in the Middle.
