Do you have a problem with that? We host santrex.net and connectpower.net on a server from iweb.com, no other sites hosted on that. Why would you care though..
I just wanted to know, as it is very strange that a hosting company host it's own website at another hosting company. Why? Maybe because they can't rely on their own hosting?
They are OVH Servers HostingProvider, dediseed resell alot cheaper, unless each server is registered to a single account then other resellers are cheaper..
I personally don't see a problem with that, incase any of their networks go down you want to be able to access the providers website. We at ClanDrive are thinking of purchasing a server in a seperate datacenter to the ones we host in for our main site, for our billing system at least.
Your plan differs from the thread op's situation. His website and billing software is hosted in a shared environment provided by another company which gives customer's the impression that the company is unable to provide even themselves with their own hosting which speaks for itself already. Regardless - Could you please post a test IP of one of the servers?
Its not that way, Hosting it on iWeb is better because - 1) The uptime isn't affected if the OVH network is down(hardly down) 2) OVH might suspend their server for Torrents/Etc.. (But they still their site would be up for clients to reach them and know whats happening) Many hosts do this so that their uptime stats aren't affected and they always have 99.5% + Uptime
Yes these are benefits but this is not what I am talking about. I am talking about putting your site in a shared environment that is NOT your own
80% of Webhosting sellers do it (atleast on DP) Another benefit is, The client doesn't come to know where they take servers from and for how much If he's paying for the shared hosting,he owns it! No one has the right to ban him or insult him if he is doing legal stuff
