This startling news just came out as quoted in the headline at Time Magazine....Al-Qaeda-Linked Website Backs McCain in this link....http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1852749,00.html McCain's staff immediately denounced it as noted here...http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/10/22/mccain_aides_blast_post_report.html Of course the report is the virtual kiss of death for a candidate. Imagine being supported for president by Al Queda. Aside from how it will be spun by politicians it brings up the point.....has the Bush program actually encouraged recruitment for Al Queda and increased their ranks? Its a serious question concerning foreign policy and national defense. Its a valid question in my book.
Do you think our govt helps keep the world at war? I do. This is interesting. thanks for the share. the "news" (lies) just stated that there is a link to the election from al qaeda. its all set up..
Hey Where is this so called al-qaeda and how do they update their websites... and i guess if they have such a free hand they might have Google ads on there and have a good amount of clicks from US
Like John Kerry was? Heh, I remember that! Here's what I believe is going on (and, of course, just an opinion). Last time, al qaida really wanted Kerry to win. They knew he'd be a push over, as would any democrat. What happened? Bush won! I hate to give a dumb terrorist too much credit, but maybe they (those that are still alive to remember) remember what happened last time and this time, they changed strategies. Support those who would go against you the strongest, so the other guy will get elected? I wouldn't put it past a "smart" terrorist to have such an epiphany!
The comment in the news obviously can have an impact on perceptions vis a vis the election. The McCain campaign responded IMMEDIATELY. Who the h-ll wants Al Queda "supporting" one campaign or the other. It does bring to mind a question of strategy going forward. I have no love for Al-Queda. How do you ultimately squash them. One thing I'll agree on with Dick Cheney is that one time he said that the fight against terrorists (I'll focus on Al Queda) will take a long long time. Have we provoked and increased their membership and enlistment by a variety of our actions in the Middle East. Essentially how are we doing in winning over the minds and attitudes of those that might join Al Queda or decide to not join. Frankly these are valid and important questions. 200-1000 less bomb carrying willing martyrs/year makes the world safer. How do you go about getting there. Its connected yet an independant concern with regard to fighting the wars in the middle east, afghanistan and possibly inside Pakistan. Remember, prior to a Spanish election Al Queda blew up Spanish commuter trains. It changed the character of the Spanish election. Moreover, I believe it has been General Petraeus himself who wanted and suggested change in our efforts in Iraq to reflect an effort to win over the minds of folks there....not just to fight. Aside from these serious concerns....it appears that you, GTech, and Al-Queda both agree on wanting McCain as President.
I deserve that one, Earl I knocked on Kerry pretty hard for it, but I still think I have a semi-valid point. Who knows though. I have no idea how terrorists think. I'm making some chili this week. I'll be sure to save you a bowl!
Well that's pretty ovbious, Al Qaeda want to see America fall hard so they would want the candidate worst for America to win, simple....
