Sarah Palin's $150,000 Fashion Spree

Gov. Sarah Palin's wardrobe has provoked admiration and envy.
Politico has now uncovered evidence that the Republican National Committee paid $150,000 for a shopping spree that started in early September "to clothe and accessorize" the governor and her family.
It's all there, buried in federal financial disclosure records, including:

$49,425.74 from Saks Fifth Avenue in St. Louis and New York
$75,062.63 spree at Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis, site of the GOP convention
$295 for a top of the line baby stroller for the governor's infant

That's more than the $125,000 that Alaska taxpayers pay the governor.

lol, if you consider Palin to be the "rich one" out of those in the race, you are sadly mistaken.

"rich one"? No one one called her rich. I thnik the cocern is that the GOP spent $150,000 in campaign donations on fashion. The money that was meant to support McCain and give him funds to get elected.

I didnt know buying Palin expensive clothes and hair styling, will get McCain elected, and support him.

I mean the GOP blasted John Edwards for his $400 haircut paid by donations. Remember?

I don't know. I think it is evidence of the power of the Republican trickle down theory on politics.

Contributors to the party get to see their contributions go to Sarah Palin's warddrobe. I guess that is an appropriate trickle down use of political funds as it relates to determining who are the best candidates to lead the nation in times of crisis.

The aforementioned $150,000 trickles down to a few nickels and dimes for each salesperson that waited on her.

Just out of curiousity....if I go on air and start shouting that Obama is connected to Bill Ayres...will the Republican National Party spend $150,000 on my warddrobe? I'd like some new shoes.

150K isn't much compared to what other state's governors spend.

I'm sure it's not much compared to Obama either. But there's no way the media is going to report on that.

After all, Obama spent nearly a million bucks for a thirty minute timeslot on tv.

How many of you angry liberals sit around on a political forum all day without a job, waiting for "The One" to start doling out welfare via socialism?

    Get a job! :p

A liberal with a job and spending their employers hard earned money posting on forums instead of working. No wonder you guys are in favor of "Handouts from Obama!"

I work for myself. I don't believe in "spreading the wealth."

She can spend as much as she wants :) Seems like a prejudicial assumption...assuming that she is doing wrong by spending money on items that are part of her job. I spend 80K on off-shore jobs...with investor money! Is that wrong? I thought democrats were supposed to be against prejudice :)

it is not her money. She can also go to jcpenny where most of "you" shop shop. why can't she be one of "you" when she is buying her clothes.

I caught that before you deleted it!

Drudge has a report (seems to be experiencing the "drudge effect" right now) about Obama's spending on food. Apparently considerably more than professional attire for the campaign trail.

Though I just ate lunch, I could stand a little "double standard" dessert about right now :D

we know that the pugs are against it when a democrat spends the money on elitist things. but that is natural. the question is when did sara stop being one of you and became one of elitists
