    Its a laughing site so the usage of colors should be bright and funky. Put images which itself will make laugh even if we do not read the comments.

    I think so you must play with some funny and shocking colours and leave this black for sure as it really look horrible rather thn humour :)
    And yes ads are little bit annoying as they are all coming at the top so try to place them at different places ... Try to add some more funniest thing and some funny pictures too
