Interesting program, have to try it :) On my current condition I can do about 40-45 push ups. I write here again after 6 weeks.

100 pushups.... one time i did 75 pushups in 1 minute! That was 3 years ago. Now, probably 40 - 50. I think i can squeeze 100 pushups in 2 set, in less than 5 minutes. Tips: do bench press twice a week. If you can lift your own bodyweight (including the bar) for more than 15 repetitions, then i think you'll have no problem doing 100 pushups provided you have decent core strength (abs and lower back). Cheers.

Oh gawd... are the goats chasing you?

Maybe you should do 10 twist push ups.

bench does not correlate with push ups, at all. It could, if you always did push ups after your bench routine then your muscles would be conditioned so that the benching would be helping the push ups. Otherwise it doesn't correlate at all. Go ask a guy in the gym that benches twice his weight to do push ups. Five bucks says he can't do more than 30 push ups. The real thing with push ups is doing quality push ups by going all the way down to 90 degrees everytime and then all the way up to full extension. 1 out of 1000 (probable a low estimate) do push ups wrong.

how long did you spend reading this thread alone and making your post? Don't trick yourself. You got 15 mins for a push up training program. Its all in your head man.

I did manage to do 15 push ups at a time....right now.

Earlier, i easily did about 30......that was when I regularly used to do it....about a year back

Agreed. Six weeks is a bit hard if you start from zero. For someone with average muscle mass maybe.

Agreed, I think it is impossible in six weeks if starts from zero. I started now in week 2 program, and I doubt that after four weeks I can do hundred, but let´s see :)

I am finally back from Riga (Latvia) and will start on the program tomorrow.

Have you started yet, if you have, what's your thoughts/experience so far?

I can do 100 easy but why would you want too?

It achieves no goal other than localised endurance which from a sport/athletic point of view shouldnt be trained that way.

Upper body strength is trained in the region of 1-5 reps usually with heavy loads.

Endurance should be trained sport specific.

Doing 100 push-ups or a hundread of anything is pointless.

1-arm pushups is what you need, changing the leverage is the way to go.

    I found this heliarious.

    Now i never did 100 pushups , but i have managed 40 or 50 , never saw a need to do 100.

I am 28 (nearly 29) , 6 foot and i am 145 pounds and i smoke 20 cigarettes a day. I also drink a pint or two every second week.

And i can still do 40 to 50 pushups lol oh man , you other guys be be seriously unfit !

Still I will admit , for all of us where our job is in front of the computer for 8+ hours a day it is hard to get out and hence keep fit lol

i think its imposable to do 100 pushups at one row, never tried it. but logicaly it seems a daunting task. If someone realy can do that. THUMBS UP!:)

I started directly from week 2, but now it feels that I should have started from Week 1 instead :) I am not able to pass this week 2 program.

Although it said on web page:
"More than 20 push ups? I would suggest starting the program on Week 3. Choose either Column 2 or 3 based on the number of push ups you managed in your initial test." Week 2 program was too much for me , have to try it again next week.
