E-gold is currently facing charges of Money Laundering by the FBI and were operating without a proper license as per the U.S law hence due to the court proceedings against them, New accounts are not being processed

They are going to have to comply to a bunch of new rules. I would imagine that a ton of countries egold supports are going to go away, if they get back up at all.

Also US law will prohibit it for being used for online gaming, online pharmacy, and a bunch of other service types.

egold will be completely different if it does get back into operation.

Egold is in phase of verifying old created account. Once they will complete verification of all old members , they will start taking new registrations with new terms and conditions.

So nothing to worry, wait some 3 months.

I recall reading that Egold has already pleaded guilty to money laundering,
I would consider liberty reserve instead they operate like egold but they
are located outside the US so they cant be charged with money laundering.

Seems to me they aren't going to get back well not at least the same way that they used to be , means many people will leave e-gold if they don't support all countries, once again US playing the big brother game :)
