Is it kosher to advertise your website link in MySpace bulletins if it's generally useful to your users?
I disagree. Myspace bulletins are a great way of advertising your site, providing that you target audience is that of who you're sending it out to. I've found that, as long as you don't make the title something spam-sounding, you'll get plenty of clicks. When I send out bulletins I keep the titles as things like 'Yeah!', and 'Boo!'. Just general stuff like that, but out of curiosity people will see what the bulletin is about and then they'll see your site.
myspace can work it just depends the site anything serious will have a hard time but jokes or teenager things go over well
MySpace marketing isn't worth the time or effort. Spammers have hit MySpace so hard that there are restrictions everywhere, not to mention people are just sick of spammy bulletins. They'll just make people delete you from their friend's list and report you to MySpace.
I have sent approximately 100,000 of them from multiple accounts advertising something that the demographic would inherently be interested in. It has produced less than a hundred visits. Hence, I would say its a waste of time. Nigel
It takes awhile, but I don't consider it a waste of time. It is a good way to get free advertising, as long as your bullitens aren't spammy, then you should be good.
What's the difference between marketing and spamming on Myspace. Figure that out and you'll know how to make money from Myspace Accounts. Don't, and you'll just get banned and removed.
i think it all depends on how you are advertising ... if you know your audience well then the conversion will be good
If you have a fresh 20,000+ friends, marketing on myspace is great. As long as you post your bulletins in a friendly manner, such as: Posting a bulletin such as that will result in less people removing you from their friends list, and people will recognize & respect you later, if they see more bulletins from you. The reason some people have 100k+ accounts & each bulletins brings little to no traffic is that the bulletins on that account have been flooded down so much, either A. all of that users active friends have removed or blocked that user, or B. they now ignore that persons bulletins. Back when I built a 16,000 friend account, having almost 5k who were inactive, I was receiving almost 200 hits per bulletin, due to the way I was using it. Commenting & messaging users, replying to their comments, etc. A fresh, real 20,000+ friends would bring in a fair amount of traffic if used properly!
Myspace marketing was good few years back but it does not work for me anymore, may be i am not doing right way.
Tried it about 2 years ago, big mistake, gathering thousands of friends was easy, handling it was not, cant bring myself to ignore friendly good people so was overtaken by people who want to talk and not visit my site, experienced desperate girls looking for a boyfriend, begged to put my pics up. Hey all i wanted to do was get them to visit my site, never again.
