thank you very much for this awesome proxy relevant form post a lot of things here explain exactly what proxy servers are all about having wondered for a while.

Using proxy servers on a server it is normally known to help people get traffic so that Google and MSN and young adults see that you're hosting over 1000 websites on one server proxy servers are an excellent way to gain traffic over the search engines this is a great article and great blog post thank you very much.

I'm not tracking exact stats -- those are just the ones that are delivering enough traffic to show up on the main page of my AWStats report.

From our own proxy lists, you might do well to try these:

Yeah, same case with me indeed. Its paypal who open the investigation.
Probably because hacked paypal account was used in buying a link in my site.

Hi Aquarezz and Silky, I am not the owner of WPT. Swank the owner of WebProxyTalk.com is my good friend. I purchase siggy links on his behalf here in DP. Silky I will forward your PM to Swank :)

But that's the problem. I don't think I've had a click better than $0.10 for quite a few days now. All of my clicks seem to be crap clicks, and my eCPM is just a joke!

You can get free listings at proxy.org in return for a reciprocal link. Paying extra is well worth it though to get targeted and consistent traffic, from what has been said tech faq only provides a short burst of visitors.

Thats not how it works and anyone who uses a setup like this is asking for trouble. I recommend you use a robots.txt file to block any spidering of the proxy file or you'll end up with alot of problems. Think copyright issues, hotlinking and spiders endlessly eating at your server resources.

Oh yes, it's well worth it to proxy owners. It allows them to drive traffic to old proxy sites which have already been blocked by WebSense. :D

Proxy users, on the other hand, benefit from a more unbiased approach to listing proxies.

Do you vet each submission to check its not an old proxy site?

Hey I have a question about cacheing.

If you have cacheing for all sites enabled and somebody goes to your site and downloads child porn, can you be held liable for having a cached version of illegal content on your server? Is it best only to cache the top used sites?

Also, using glype how do I know what sites my visitors are viewing?

There is no way that I can think of to do that. WHOIS records aren't a good source, because many people build proxy sites on older domains.

Archive.org doesn't show records for six months.

Do you have a good idea for how to do this? It would be great for our site visitors!

What sample size are we talking here, how many clicks per day are you basing this on? I have an average of 23 clicks per weekday however this is about the minimum you need to calculate trends.

Chances are you were smart priced. To un smart price yourself, write unique content that is keyword rich for your proxy. Also you should block many countries that don't net good clicks. Things have gone quite well by doing this

I thought about this similair issue yesterday too ! I was thinking.. if people to download warez from Rapidshare and Megaupload and if I cache all websites.. I will also cache the warez ! What I did to prevent this, is in the admin section of glype blocking the sites rapidshare and megaupload :D This way it prevents visitors to go to rapidshare etc. At the caching section, I also removed .zip and .rar from being cached by my proxy.

I also have set to remove cache files every 1 hour

To view what your visitors are viewing, you must have logging enabled. do this via the control panel

This sucks big time. 5 clicks today and only 0.16$ !?... So you say writing more unique content on my proxy will help ? Any examples ?

    Thanks

Don't you even think about moaning! Today I've had 1 click so far and guess what... $0.00  That's right, I'm now getting NOTHING per click

Last week I was getting around 25 clicks, but over the weekend and this week it's really dropped and I'm getting just 3 or 4 clicks max.

Well adsense clicks are low as usual from proxies...
And if you would tags that pay high like 'cancer' but just the word, than google can ban you for that so..

BTW.. I didn't know that much people on DP were intrested in proxies
My ebook (in my sign) is sold more than 20 times now

    Kinda amazing in my eyes..

yeah strange this week. adsense tailed off a bit. Last week I got very good payouts $100 plus - adsense seems to have died off again :)
