Will it be followed?

    Hi

I've been lucky to get a PR2 link on one of my friend's sites, and because of that, I hope that my brand new site soon will be crawled by googlebot.

My site has just been launched, and I hoped to get indexed within 48 hours because of that pr2 backlink.

However, the link is placed in the bottom of the site, and I've heard that googlebot only indexes the first 100kb of source or something.

Is that correct? Can I assume that my site will be crawled soon? Will the PR2 link affect my new site's pr?

    Thanks in advance.

good if it's a one page link and not a sitewide link.

    I'm admin on the site, and it's index,follow ;)

Is it better to just have the link on the frontpage, and not the whole site?

I'm not sure on that. I have mixed feelings. I like to always think I am going to get traffic from advertising I do. So, sidewide always seems to make more sense. However, some people say that Google doesn't like sitewides.

Yes, it will be followed as long as its link is dofollow.
I think if your link is place at the bottom of the site, it may be less clicked by the visitors.

the idea is to get up in google search results, not necessarily to have visitors click his site, so it doesn't matter if it's on the bottom of the page

    Hi

I don't actually care if the visitors clicks. I just want to get indexed by google, and hopefully soon can begin working on SEO on it.

It's just a simple splash page atm. When it is launched, I will get a top ad placement on the site (8K active users - over 1k unique visitors per day!).

Placing your website's link in your dp signature is enough for you to get the page indexed by Google. If the page doesn't have something against Google Tos IMO it should get indexed within few hours of placing the link

Thanks. However, it's a danish site, so I don't believe it's relevant for users at DP.

It doesn't matter as long as your purpose is served
