I have a soccer site called The Complete Soccer Guide. It has forum, games, picture, indepth guide, videos, and pretty much everything else all soccer related. Do you think thecompletesoccerguide.com is a good domain name? I already have bought it but do you think something shorter would be better
its Good Now U Just need To learn and Invest on SEOing. It Would be A Very Good Idea I learnt a Lot from this SIte: http://bestseotricks.blogspot.com/
A shorter name is better, and try to buy .com only. All you have to do is go to a registrar, like namecheap.com and try something smaller related to soccer. If it is not available, the site will give different variations, then you start getting ideas for similar names. Usually you end up finding very good names, just be ready to spend sometime trying...
in my opinion domain name is good and easy to remember , problem is with the typing mistake that people make that's very common to long domain names. more the number of words in a domain , greater is the chance of making a typing mistake, if someones types incorrect in the url bar , it would show more likely as page cannot be displayed . if someone googled it ,result would depend on your seo , so you h've to work on your seo as someone rightly adviced you already. i myself googled it and your site didn't come up , other than some links of your site. just expressing an opinion ,though i myself is a novice. so better not speak too much.
The domain name is good but quite long, if you are planing to get a domain name please try to see that it is shorter and mouth of word and easy to remember
never get a domain name with "the" in it. Try to create something shorter and easier to remember... "everythingsoccer.com" or something to that effect.
If you want to get a good idea of how good a domain is and what kind of traffic potential just paste it into the Adwords Keyword External tool and separate the keywords. You will be amazed at how many good ones you can find. I have found domains that the exact name gets several thousand searches a month on Google. Gregg
Domain name seems to long. You can have a look at these SoccerPilot MySoccerGuide SoccerGuideSite Search for any domain name suggestion tool for good name
It's good in the fact that is has the keywords you need in it, but in terms of the human factor I can't see anyone remembering it off the top of their head.
Thanks for the advice. I'm a novice too. If you put the complete soccer guide in goggle it comes up first but with my old site url wich is a pr of 4. My new domain isn't in goggle yet. I'm considering buying completesoccer.com
I just searched at www.11sale.com, and found that completesoccerguide.com is also available... then, what is the use of adding the in front of this... but, I must tell you, its a long name... try shorter ones...
The shorter your domain name is the better. The problem is it is becoming increasingly difficult to find quality domain names that are short and sweet. I would say instead of worrying about changing your domain name, start focusing on search engine optimization and generating traffic to your site. While it is better to have a short name, you can still have success with a long name. Start by posting in a few different forums every day for a couple of hours so people begin to recognize you and your web site. From there, writing articles can be another effective way to bring traffic to your site. Make sure to write fresh and enticing content that will intrigue site surfers. In addition, include a resource box that has your web site link within it. Not that your question asked about how to generate traffic, but I would certainly start focusing on this more than worrying about your domain name. Even though it is a bit long, it is good enough to get people to your site where they can find what you have to offer.
