Alright, I'm going to be trying for a publisher soon, and I'd like to know what the affiliates want.

If I become a publisher, I will put the affiliates first, because they are the ones generating what I make!

So what do you guys REALLY want out of a publisher? :)

Above all a good relationship, I like publishers that actually take the time to chat with their aff's and answer questions ;)

the most important thing - give us a GOOD PRODUCT, that would genuinely help people, not a crappy ebook rewritten from public sources. everything else, sales copy, affiliate materials, etc comes second.
there are so many people who turn into publishers after being affiliates for couple of months thinking they can sell every crap in the world if they find good affiliates for it. i hope you aint one of them.
and i've also seen fantastic products with shit websites and no affiliate materials sold thousands in few days.
if your product deserves it good affiliates will find a way to promote it no matter how flashy your banners are.
    just my 2 cents.

    good luck with your product.

All I care about is a product that converts and a refund rate under 10% with a good commission. I don't care about all the affiliate fluff.

Take a look at NC media and you will see what affiliates want. Help with making sales support and overall a good product to sell.

Am going to answer that question with a question of my own.

What do you want from a publisher?

    I want a

    1) Good Product
    2) Good Conversion
    3) Low Refunds
    4) High Commission (at least $30 or if the product is really good $20)

Support and Affiliate Resources are good too but they are not as important to me as it might be for some other affiliates.

I want a direct access to the affiliate resources page without going through the hoop of signing up with my email address. (It is okay to request that info, as long as you also have a direct link to the resource page, that does not require the sign-up.)

    Alright, 1. Support for Affiliates

    Again, support

This'll be added to the list a little later on.

Everybody earns money when it comes to internet marketing!

    2. Great product
    3. Tools for Affiliates
    4. High Commission to keep the Affiliate happy

    5. Landing page with "umph"

Sorry, but I'm one for equality...

    Great product, covered.
    6. LOW refund rate

Nobody wants a shitty product, done and done.
No I definitely will not be one of those who spews out shitty content to unsuspecting customers. Quality is almost priceless; crap is crap.

    Already covered, but thank you.

The good conversions come hand in hand with the quality of the product.

Honestly, don't just post useless spam.

I probably won't have this kind of thing, but I'll certainly have to provide you with something... What if the product you are going to promote is created by a very active, quality publisher? Wouldn't you want to know when they come out with a new product?

    Okay, here's the list:

    1. Support for Affiliates
    2. Great product
    3. Tools for Affiliates
    4. High Commission to keep the Affiliate happy
    5. Landing page with "umph"
    6. LOW refund rate

Missing anything? Is it in the right order? Revise it and I'll bring you guys a quality product.

Yes, I do. I often sign-up for email info for affiliates. But I highly recommend that ALL PUBLISHERS place a direct link to the affiliate tool section below their sign-up email request area.

Something that says: "Already signed-up? Access the affiliate area here."

I have skipped messing around with many publishers that put barriers in front of their affiliate tools page and sometimes their sales page because of their unbreakable demand for an email address that I gave the last time I visited.

Alright, I'll include direct links for the affiliates, as well as a not mandatory sign up log once I get a product made.

Your top priority should be creating a well converting product, with a solid commission for the affiliate (at least 60%).
Because even if you have great affiliate support and resources, it won't matter as much if your product doesn't convert well.

This means that you need to have a killer sales page, because that's where the conversions come from. Even if you have a great product, without a great sales page it won't matter that much.

Conduct a proper research for the market, test out the product by yourself with different prices. Choose the price which is the most profitable. You have to choose the right price, Too high of a price lowers conversion rate, too low of price lowers the overall profit, so you need to choose somewhere in the middle.
