Go with a HP and about any LCD monitor is fine. You wont need a monitor with a laptop. You can get 17 inch laptop models for cheap anyways....
Once they are plugged in they can run all the time. On a battery 2 hours+ is the usual now days for new laptops.

    Thanks for reply.
We need laptop for general purpose, i mean web browsing, graphics designing, doing some office work and also to play some lite weight games.

17inch tft monitor is needed for desktop pc not for laptop.

So now plz put some more replies about your experience with your laptop...

ok first when I read graphic designing I felt like you might need a macbook but you don't if you want to use it for gaming and are not doing graphic design on a regulat basis.

I got a macbook and it friggin' kicks ass but I would recomend you to check dell.com and put together a laptop for your needs

    I wont agree with that....
I have been thinking to buy a laptop for long and hv been reviewing them for last 3-4 months...
i'd prefer a DELL in ur range,or a toshiba(dont exactly remember the model no.) bt they are giving pretty good configuration in a 40k INR price

Trust me dells are junk. Not all of them but some of them. Do your reviews on CNET.com before buying.

If you want to make it easy on yourself stay away from Mac or Linux notebooks. They are good for certain things but for other things they are hard to use.

If your in a country that has the craigslist go there and buy a notebook locally. Or check out ebay.

Acer laptops are available in cheap price but are they reliable to use and can we compare them with HP or any other brand ?

Can we use our laptop daily 8 to 10 hours with pluged in electricity or on laptop battery ?

Also what about tft monitor ?...

You can use your laptop for 24 hours, 7 days a week if you have it plugged in. If it is on the battery, then it'll last 3 to 4 hours depending on what you are doing (Photoshop, for example, will make your battery life go down considerably, while playing solitaire won't). Monitors can run 24/7 also, but their bulbs eventually go out so if you leave your monitor 24/7 it'll need to have its bulb changed every 6 to 7 months or so.

Acer laptops are reliable and cheap but HP is the leader in this segment and if you sufficient bucks, go for HP.

I think you should go for advent laptops. Just see their official website you will find all the information there. I think they also have live chat service for their customers from other countries.
