I am planning to buy some google shares any one here has shares in google and is buying shares in it worth it ?
I'm not sure if that would be a good idea, and I haven't been monitoring google's share prices but everyone knows what a mess the world's economy is and the lack of money available for biliousness. Considering that most of Google's income comes from adsense and advertising I would expect businesses to slow down on advertising resulting in less income for Google.
Investing on stock market is not worth it at all during the economical crisis. Everyone will be affected, even Google.
If you're going to invest, it would be a good option, but I don't think anyone should advise on putting money into the stock market these days.
should have jumped on google 3yrs ago.. its soo $$ right now. keep an eye on markets as they have been very unstable.
I'd buy it. Stock market is going to make a recovery sooner or later, what with the new bailout finally taking effect. Anyone who is telling you not to buy is too short-sighted. Think long term.
I would buy GOOG if the price gets back down to about $330 per share. They have some problems, like revenue slowing down, market saturation, and no new products, but there quarterly report still looks good, shows they can manage expenses.
Midwestmoneyman: If you're implying it's going down then my indicators are saying BUY BUY BUY MystikMedia: I invest on a daily basis (not intraday) since the so called "collapse". Why? Because the emotional investors are running while the heavyweights are dumping capital and buying financials/ conglomerates and basic materials at pennies on the dollar. MartinGR: Stock markets is the tool for central banks to create circulation via standardized patterns... It WILL fluctuate.. that's economics... Ask any economist or better yet, look at a basic business cycle. eZGuy: YES! Buy GOOG it is a MUST! Just as when the naysayers weren't buying BERK-H because they thought it was overpriced.. Now look at it. Google = Skynet... They will only get BIGGER and BIGGER. Buy now while price is reachable. As a Canadian, I have the advantage of watching the US economics from a non-emotional spectator's angle, thus let me break down what I am analyzing from the current status. We are entering a trough situation [hence a DOWN TURN]. Basic stock market rule; buy low, sell high. Trough = EXTREME low... Just like the mid 1900's when major banks were bought by leading banks. And for modern day that's the WaMU sale My advice would be head towards tech and basic materials and even stored foods. That's my 2c Thanks, Coincidence
Coincidence is the man. I'm also Canadian and its been great to watch form the outside. I wish I had Buffet kind of money to invest.... Ah well, I'm young yet, I've now invested low and am planning on holding onto them for the next 20 years. I think its the right move.
Hello... Well if you have it to risk then sure why not but ordinary people wouldnt be sticking their necks out in fear that they could lose everything . I agree you can still make money in stocks at this time i wouldnt be trying to buy any AIG or riskier stock. Those that are more savvy and can afford to buy things like property/real estate ect ect can make a killing at the give away prices now, providing you dont need a loan off course and can afford to sit on it for a year or two. thx malcolm
Of course we shouldn't buy AIG! They are too busy having their $500,000 "meetings" and hunting trips for them to give us a return on our investments. I'd be very wary about ever investing in them, even IF the stock market should rise back to previous levels.
if you are going to buy stocks now would be the best time for a long time investment because eventually it will go back up, Last year google stocks were in the 700's now its in the 300's
I'd advise taking a look at the share price, and picking a time where it's low... i mean things will get a little worse right now, and so if you can get some when they're cheap, you'd be quids in so to speak
What makes us think it won't be $150 next year? "It can't get much lower than this!"---didn't work with WaMu...! I've done a lot of "it's down now, should go back up" investing only to find out how much of a stupid strategy that is.
