I dumped everything but Firefox and IE.

My stats show so very few visitors from other browsers, or Mac computers, that I just make sure my pages hold together for the 95% of traffic via IE and Firefox.

At least for my situation, it seems pointless to allow a bunch of little remnants to waste my time and complicate things.

It seems much more practical to ignore them.

Adapting to the small fragment means work for me - or us.

It seems that if we just all ignored them, it would cause the software designers for the fragments, to have to make their browsers parallel IE. That would put all the extra work and tweaking on them.

I have IE 6 installed (along with other older Browser versions) on an old laptop that I use exclusively for Browser compatibility checking.

Which may explain why you get so few Mac users. Are you aware that 50% of college students who have a laptop use a Mac?
Yes. Let's follow the worst, most non-standard browser on the planet. One which wasn't updated for five years till they had to.

I only have Safari (came default on my Mac) and Firefox. For the rest of the browsers, I just use BrowserShots.org. It's pointless to install of those browsers.

No that would not explain it. I know what college students use. Those are not my customers.

My stats will show if a Mac user visited my site regardless of whether they remained or not. Your question connoted that you might be unfamiliar with that.

My reply was geared toward the original question that started the thread.

Actually saying that i'm sure I also have an old desktop with IE6 installed could be useful.
