Optimising my forum

    Hi everyone,

I have already had some very helpful advice from a few members here but just wanted to ask for some advice in optimising my Phobia support forum.

At the moment I'm ranked No1 for the search term "phobia forum" but I want to get further up the list for the search term "phobia" Currently I sit at page 6 and yet no site has more information just dedicated to phobias than mine so what do I need to do to change this?

Please try to use easy explanations and terms as this is not my expert field by all means.

Can someone maybe give me pointers about my page title as currently it is as follows:

    <title>{SITENAME} &bull; <!-- IF S_IN_MCP -->{L_MCP} &bull; <!-- ELSEIF S_IN_UCP -->{L_UCP} &bull; <!-- ENDIF -->{PAGE_TITLE}</title>

    Maybe this should be changed?

    Thanks in advance guys

You can try to make standalone pages with articles on them. Use sites like Squidoo and Hub pages and post articles related to your niche. In between the articles, link 2-3 keywords to your main site. Also submit articles to article directories and you might see good results.

I believe you can try to change that title into a more optimized title that will best suit the description of your site. Also, gather more links, better if is related to your niche. Just focus on building your links pointing to your targeted keyword...

Changing it in what way? It's currently "Ofear Phobia Forum" which is what the site is so I'm slightly confused!

Thanks for your input though :)

    I agree with web hunk.

Your target audience (in general) isn't actually searching for a phobia forum but information on their phobias. I'm just guessing, but I would suspect that they most often search for symptoms of their phobias, treatments, and stats or other info that will let them know if they are total weirdos or not.

They may also be searching for related videos.

If you provide this kind of information (Squidoo is excellent for this), you will not only receive web traffic from your target audience, but you will establish yourself as an authority on phobias, which will make clicking through to your forum the next logical step.

    Hope this helps :)

Hi Icjackson and thanks for your informative reply.

Yes I guess you're right in the fact that not many people will be actually looking for a phobia forum but would it also help if I keep adding more and more content relating to phobias on the site? As you can see already I have many links at the top of the forum to medication and treatment information. Is it best to keep adding to this and the methods you and web_hunk mentioned?

    Thanks

    John
