The only people this should surprise are the ones who've been saying all along, "that would never happen, you're freaking out. If it ever did happen I'd arrest my Congressman." (not saying I wasn't freaking out at the time) Now it's not like it's being discussed everywhere yet, but let's skip the emotional dissatisfaction and get right to the questions. What's bad and good about a one world currency?
Nicolas sarkozy and the french leaders are "bloody idiots" that should not be allowed to recommend anything. The money should be printed in Zimbabwe.
I doubt it is going to happen, the European sacrifice a lot for the Euros, they can determine their monetary policies individually and instead have to decide as a common whole. For the world it is much worse with much more diversity in economic growth and conditions, it is a catastrophe if the global currency is to be implemented.
I've been tracking media references for this here: http://www.dsieve.com/forum/showthread.php?t=57 It's not just the Europeans who are talking about this. There is support for it in China, Russia and the Middle East.
African countries will come out on top if there is one world currency. Why stop there. We should have one world leader. George Bush would be a great first choice.
80% of the world population don't care about this so called economic melt down. Farmers in Africa, Asia, and South America they grow their own food and live a sustainable life. World means bunch losers representing hopeless countries in Europe? Economic meltdown only impact people who can't farm themselves.
Russian Skinheads Most Numerous in World Skinheads are currently the most violent of all Russia's nationalist activists Russia has up to 50,000 'skinheads' with active groups in 85 cities
Good idea. Africa needs all the help it can get. It would set those big money Arabs on more equal terms with the average third world guy. Step toward human equality and bridging the have - have not gulf ?
The economic meltdown will affect small farmers more than you think. Many small farmers are dependent on small loans to buy seeds, farm tools and fertilizer. Many small farmers also grow small plots of cash crops like coffee and cocoa. A downturn in commodity prices will put less money in their pockets.
How do people farm themself? Your username is nearly right on, you just need to remove one letter and add two letters.
Before you start believing in world currency other than US dollar read this: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1073139
Are you proposing the on world currency be the US dollar? It makes since due to the fact the rest of the World financial markets hing on the United States.
Using the US dollar sure beats using the Ruble. The Yen could be a world currency as well but the Japanese don't want a strong Yen.
Like the universe revolves around the earth? Our's is a world that's interconnected. If something big happens somewhere, ripples will be felt elsewhere.
Both Russia and China are making noise in anticipation of the upcoming G20 meeting about turning the IMF into a global version of our Federal Reserve and replacing the dollar with a basket. I'm still documenting news reports on the subject here: Will the world abandon the Dollar as a reserve currency?
