Since I started blogging 3 months ago, I've already knew that the Alexa rank will always be inaccurate. What I said was really true. When my blog was hitting around 300 visitors 2 months ago, my 1 week rank was averaging about 50,000. Currently, over 600 visitors read my blog daily but when I checked my 1 week rank just now, it was hovering at only 771,000! But the problem is that most bloggers in the blogosphere do take the alexa rank seriously as they think that the alexa rank is the most important web tool to judge a site's web traffic. I would like to hear your views and opinions of what you think about the inaccuracy of the Alexa rank.
It's an absolute swizz, you're right. They're selective about who they count - webmaster sites are at an automatic advantage because their visitors are more likely to have the toolbar installed or come via an Alexa redirect.
I think so 1 update per week You can improve it by using traffic software or buy traffic lol Not accurate
yes you are right its not actually accurate, it mostly depends on the direct url access like if you have se traffic then your alexa will be higher and if you have set your site as home page it will low.
It depends on the number of visitors who are using alexa toolbars.... maybe,in the 1st case most of ur viewers were the ppl using alexa toolbar and it may not be same as in case two
Well it's hard to say whether they are accurate or not. Since we can't control who ever visits our site. Logically it may happen this way; Today you may have 1000 visitors who 50% uses Alexa toolbar. But then you may have 2000 visitors in the following day, but only 5% uses Alexa toolbar.. So you see, you will never know... Nevertheless this uncertainty may also raise doubt about their reliability.
Hey, Depends for who and for what. Alexa mostly build their tracking system from their toolbar + (probably some other toolbars), who usually have Alexa toolbar? Webmasters. So for the long term, Alexa might be accurate (in Alexa terms) as you take average visitors (normal users + Webmasters), now take for example website that 100% of the visitors are only Webmasters, it will be rank 50.000, take same amount of traffic for a Wight loss article website, you'll get rank 900.000
Alexa ranking can be influenced by the kind of people visiting your site. If you want a better ranking, install the alexa tool bar right now and whenever you feel bored, check your site with the toolbar enabled browser as often as possible. This is so simple. Where are you rushing? To download the alexa toolbar?
how on earth u have 300 visitor and ur alexa rank is 50,000 ??? due to they new system, all alexa rank is drop for almost every site, wait till they stable ... BTW alexa, PR all is just a tool for u to estimate ur site traffic, when u in top 100,000 ,alexa is accurate, when u out from million then u complaint, just use it as personal tool ... google analytice is much better tool
Alexa algo's are so stupid. Check graph of DP (dunno it might go below my own site ) One of my site gets 8k Uv's daily but still the graph is so damm low.. ALesa is only good for estimate of traffic
