Very curious to see how many people from all over the world suffer from chronic pain/illness.
How do you manage to cope with everday activities?
How long have you been suffering?
Have you got a good family network?

So many suffering with chronic health problems I wonder how you all cope? :)

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, sometimes the flares can last months. Then have a break for a month and then back again. You do not get use to it.

Luckily I'm in remission. I still have small flares, feel like I have the flu sometimes. But I have learned ways for me to help decrease the pain. Less stress, ibuprofen (big doses) plus heating pads, hot baths, sometimes massages (good when stiff or achy...not if tender). Oh and benadryl to help sleep better at times. Along with the $2K in drugs I take every month. And I can't forget the B-12 shots to help prevent fatigue and/or brain fog.

Do the B-12 shots make a big difference in your energy levels compared to just taken the vitamins?

I am not sure about chronic pains. are they due to some biological effects or due to increase in the age? I m a bit confused here.

I have osteoarthritis in every major joint. A flare-up is agony and I've been off work for 3 months now. I'm typing this one-handed and if it's real chronic pain you do not get used to it. Even the strongest pain meds don't work and all I can hope for is remission.

My wife seems to suffer from a chronic headache or sickness from 8:00PM until the time she goes to sleep. The odd part is, it only seems to affect her when i'm asking for something from her.

I've got Cystic Fibrosis and up until the last few years I've been completely fine. Now I've had 2 years of stomach pains which I've learned to live with. It wears you out after a while but there are so many worse off people out there. :) I would say I'm pretty lucky!

    I have a back pain for almost 3 years...does this count? I guess it's a chronic pain, isn't it?

Lots of people out there suffering, and you really don't understand the full extend of chronic pain until you go through yourself. Oh how I'd love to be healthy again.

For those will back pain, I've been taking a combination of Omega 3's and Vitamin D, helps a little with my spine pain so thought I would share incase it helps someone else :)

Hoping 2009 is a better year.:)
