Adsense at forums

We all know that adsense does well on blogs, where you can blend the ads with the text very well. But how about forums. I'll soon have 5 different forums and I'm interested to know how much money do you make with them.
    What is your Page CTR?

One more thing: If having more websites and you get banned because of some reason at "A" site, does google cancle your account and you have to remove ads from all sites, or just from that "A" site?

From my personal experience, forum ads never did well for me. Unless you get a lot of new visitors everyday (ie. DP), you won't see many clicks. Returning visitors, or regulars, will mostilkely not click on any ads.

If your account is banned, you won't be able to place ads on any sites.

No problem. You maybe better off selling monthly ad space such as banners or text links.

I have a forum. Out of 10,000 impressions the CTR is .15%!!!!! the CTR on my blogs is 5%

I like it though, you basically set it and forget it. Any spamming etc is usually reported to me. so every so often i go in and clean out all the reported posts.

Forums usually dont do well with adsense, you can try other networks for forums or rotate ads.

Well usually people say that forums perform less effective than sites and blogs with adsense ads.

But to be serious i have never used adsense , although planning in few more days after installing 2 more websites .

My forum generates ~$2,000 - $4,000/month by using a combination of Adsense and in-text advertising (even more when counting the other income). Adsense generally does poor in forums, but you can add to those earnings by diversifying with in-text (or other) advertising.
And yes, if Adsense bans you because of something at site "A", your entire account is banned including sites "B" - "Z" - forever. Yet another reason to have multiple income streams.

My forums do not convert from members- they become ad-blind.
SEO is critical, as most all of my clicks come from search engine traffic, presumably.
I know this because I disabled posting on one forum after migrating to a different platform, and the income is stable on the "dead forum". The content still exists for reading, of course.
No regular members go there, but the click numbers are constant.

Good point - It think this is true for all forums. I dont even bother to show any ads to members - i rely on anonymous traffic for my PPC income.

I use a switch to show ads after the first post to all viewers, but guests get bombarded with ad units at the very top (before scrolling), etc.
Guests do forums no good, so aesthetics isn't an issue.
It can be for potential new members, but if your forum is really attractive to SE traffic, you aren't concerned what they think of the content and would rather they didn't scroll down.
The very top ads blow away the post-content ads by far.
They came there to learn about blue widgets, and if targeting is working good, that first ad unit should have links to deliver what they seek.

Experimentation and paying attention to site stats and Adsense stats told me which units performed best, and by whom.

IMHO, search engine traffic does best for forums, and forums by nature seem to do well in Google's algorithm for whatever reasons.
Even after all the SEO work on my favorite sites, the ones I did nothing with in that regard get great keyword traffic, perhaps because of the platform's vanilla software (phpBB, SMF, IPB, etc)...I dunno.
