Creating links to your website on Wikipedia

Anyone have any success creating links to your websites on Wikipedia?

I recently found out you can edit the content pages yourself (old news to most I'm sure).

Just wondering what kind of traffic you have seen by doing this, so far so good

There is a high probability of your link being removed...though that depends on which page you will add them. Same goes for traffic.
I do have some traffic for my very niche site from Wikipedia.

If you site contain content that is related to the page, you won't get removed.
however, if you have too much Ads on your site, there is a big chance for you site to be remove.

i 've got 5-10 vistor per link everyday

Actually Wikipedia is pretty merciless with "spam." Basically if you create a link to your own site, it's condisidered spam and will probably be deleted, regardless of your content.
That's what happened to me, anyway. :(

If they don't remove your link, you should be fine. However, the chances are slim. They are very hardcore with IP tracking.

I was able to include links in many articles of the portuguese version of wikipedia.
My website has two versions: portuguese and english. But I was not able to include my links in the wikipedia english version. :(

I'm getting around 20 visitors from wikipedia.

Have about a dozen or so links on there (not my doing) but traffic is minimal. I guess it depends if your link is on a high-traffic page/topic.

well, we had a site listed, but it was removed as E-commerce sites and sites with too much advertising are not liked that much :(

One must be careful as there are many Wikipedians who are on a bit of a power trip when it comes to "reviewing" external links

Your site have to be really good to be in wiki. But be careful, while putting your link on lot's of wiki pages ;),They also monitor the IP's of those who are editing the pages

I also submit my link to very cold niche, which no one visit, hence no one remove my link:D

They track your IP and will delete your links pretty quickly if they are spam. Once your IP is flagged as a spammer you might need to use proxymouse.com to continues spamming although this is frowned upon. :)

I have links to my sites from the relevant pages on wikipedia and they bring in 5 to 10 visitors per link. My links have stayed up for over a month so the wiki community must approve of my sites ;)

As for spamming, you will not get much traffic unless your link is on a page that is related to your sites content so why go through the hassle for a link that won't bring traffic and will be removed fairly quickly.
