    I have a question.

I have a blog that had just a couple backlinks, maybe like 50 or so. I had a PR2 just from those links. So then i got some more links Some even from PR4 sites. All the sites i got links from where related to my niche and they all had my keyword in the anchor text. After the last PR update i totally lost my PR and i dont even show up in the rankings for my keyword.

What could be going on? Anyone who can help is the best.

My site is Online Money for Teens in my signiute if you could do a little research for me...Thanks!!!

You still have the information. Try to build some alternative links fom forums and directories and then wait to see the result.

My guess would be the content of your blog. You touch on some shady areas such as paid blog reviews and paid links. Perhaps that triggered some type of red flag. If they decided to manually review your blog, they would see an excess of banner ads that makes your blog look very spammy.

To get your rankings and PR back, you may need to seriously clean up your site. Even then you might not get your rankings and PR back. It can be tough to recover from this type of penalty.

If Google sees that you are getting linked with the same exact keword over & over again with nothing else. You will get blacklisted.

Or, you might have a highly competitive term.

I agree with Vansterdam. The first red flag I saw was paid reviews. You also appear to have an inordinate amount of outbound links that are not helping the cause either.

    hope that helps,
    Nigel

Content of your blog or it could have been that you built your links too fast and they did not consider them as natural link building.

Out of the millions and millions of website Google must have chosen to pick on you because you were becoming a force to reckon with.

Or they could have just filtered some of the incoming links to your site or made any of a number of changes to the ranking algorithm and you got caught up in it.

It's always best to speculate, cause it's fun!

Diversification means not relying entirely on Organic Search for your business model. Get links that bring you traffic on their own.

So should i remove my paid review posts?

Also with the outbound links will no follow help that? I put a link in pretty much every post.

I also am ranked first on Yahoo for my keywords so i am pretty sure it is just Google.

Is this true? Do I need to mix up my keywords i am getting links for. I always link to Online Money for Teens. I never mix it up or put any variations. Should i be doing that?

Yes you totally need to mix up the anchor text of your inbound links otherwise it looks like a bot is spamming your link all over the internet. Choose synonyms, because those are seen as relevant to your keywords and help as well.

I suggest you just focus to quality links. Quality meaning natural links! Duplicate content can also be a reason for the dropped of your PR and lost of rankings. :D

try to add fresh content and gather some more backlinks for your site. And after last PR updates many SEOs faced the same problem that you have. So all of we have just assumption about problem. So we just have to make double our efforts.

Honestly, you may just be better off moving on to another blog/site. Avoid using content or linking tactics that seem fishy, and your old site's PR and SERPs may come back eventually.

But since no one really knows why a site gets demoted, often, the most efficient use of your time is just to build another one.
