Okay either I'm doing okay or this is a fluke. One of my sites already has $8.08 and it's only 2:13.... How in the "H" did this happen... Is it because of My adwords campaigns? Also is it illigal to have adsense on my adwords campain landing page?
good question I would also like to know that answer! Also be interesting to know if you make more or pay more! I think it's ok to have Adsense on landing pages
I'm definatley a noob with adwords... I think there is an art to it and I don't have the touch like most people do. Trial and error. My adwords to adsense is about even give or take a few... For this particular adwords campaign today I spent less than $8 bucks Okay I just checked and I'm now at $8.65... Did I hit paydirt?
I dont think I would call $.65 paydirt, but its a start. And its ok to have adsense on your landing page.... Good luck
It's okay as long as the Adsense/Adwords team doesn't determine that you are involved in arbitrage. Not saying you are at all, just that if it comes across to them that you are, your will get penalized.
.65 cents... the problem is that this $8 buy got you $8.65 back - will the next one? Or will it get you $6.50.... it's a REALLY small sample to think you've found the cash cow... you might be onto something, but it would have to consistently perform that well. I suspect it won't and they're right if you're doing arbitrage (just buying ads cheap to convert expensive clicks) you'll probably be penalized. I've seen several variations on arbitrage and it rarely makes it in the longterm.
It is ok to have adsense on your adwords pages. As far a penalties, I have seen google just close accounts for no real good reason before and no talking your way out of it.
Again what are the penalties and how would Google be able to tell... I guess it's because we woudl be buying words that aren't related to our website?
It's fine to have Adsense on your Adwords landing pages. Now if you cross the line and start using arbitrage, then that is a different story.
Take a look at the LPQ guidelines. Penalties might be banning (which happened to a number of publishers back in early to mid 2007) or causing your bid to be higher on keywords in your campaign, thus squeezing your margin to make the concept not profitable.
So the first thing is the profits will go way down... That's it? So If I have a site about football and I write about NFL teams, advertise NFL teams in Adwords then Adsense will display relevant ads... If my visitors click on the relevant adsense ads and I make profit then this is Arbitrage?
Any time you try to make a profit a spread between buying and selling it could be considered arbitrage. It's up to Google Adsense/Adwords team to determine if the level of it constitutes a "bad business model" which is the term they were using about a year and a half ago before the ban-wave.
Great Post. Rep added. Adsense is too much valuable too be playing with. I never, ever, will drive adwords (or any other than SE) traffic into a Adsense page. Choose wisely.
Right, That's the arbitrage, which afaik still peoples using and even big websites, but they do it wisely.
How would "do it wisely" be done? What is breaking the rules arbitrage is arbitrage right? I emailed the adsense team of my situation. It was recommended by another DP members so I'm interested to hear what Adsense will say. (If they even respond)
Well, When I am saying wisely I mean you promote a product, and that product page lead to a page with Adsense, for example, can't find a reason not to be allowed.
