How do you get google PR? how many backlinks do you need?

    Hi
I have 2 websites, 2 months and 4 months old, both still have backlinks. And are rated at PR 0. How long do I have to wait to get a page rank?

    Italiatrips.com
    cryptofgore.com

Will I even get any Page rank for those sites with the amount of backlinks? or what factors are contributed to getting a PR?

Well I PR is something which is working very properly and shows the whole work of your website. It you make a lot of publications, increase website capacity and submit your website to as much directories as you can, you will get the result within 4 months, but even may get more time for good PR

Just keep adding quility content to your site, and webmaster will link to you. Then time will take care of getting "actual PR" (the one that counts for high positions oin the SERPs) and you will also get "toolbar PR" (which means nothing, yet people get excited about it). :D

The PR will come when you site starts to get more web recognition. Your sites are still relatively new, give google some time to get your pages indexed and for your domain to age a little. Then continue to ad new content to your site and develop back links. Your PR will rise slowly over time - be patient.

No one knows how many backlinks are needed to get a specific PR. Just keep building relevant and quality backlinks, this will improve your PR.

I wouldn't worry to much about PR, worry about traffic and conversion ;)

I got my pr1 in only 1 and half months , and i dont remember myself sitting too much working on backlinks...
just added my site to like 10-20 directories which more than half probably rejected me...
Anyways i was updating my site every day , and didnt even care about it , not even "conversion"
all my traffic comes from google and other half are direct hits

    Thanks guys!

I know I need more traffic, but how do I get it. I have submitted to search engines, add new content, added to directories, had some my links in my sigs in a couple of forums, had article submission done and also put some articles up on digg and technorati. but Still nothing. no authority or diggs yet.

Keep on building the backlinks, and work on the content, and it will automatically give you a pagerank in the next update :)

It usually take two PR updates to obtain Page Rank for a new site. This is due to limited indexing of pages, link's age, etc.

Just keep getting links and add pages to both sites.

If both sites are on the same host, do not cross link between them. You will get busted by Google.

Look at ~January 15th for the PR update to be completed.

They are on the same host, but what do you mean cross link them?

    Hello Mike,

here's how i got a PR2 for a friends site on the first update from PR/NA

    1. I submitted the site to this list here
    http://www.caroline-middlebrook.com/blog/do-follow-social-bookmarking-sites/

    2. I submitted 1 article to 150 directories.

    That's all it took for a PR2.

I would recommend staying away from directories. Google is not even recommending Yahoo's directory anymore.

Just work on getting hard link, Oneway, regular and sitewide. Stay away from payed links and directories. Just search for websites that are related to your niche and start collecting web emails. Keep up the hard work and it will come sooner or later. 2,4 month old domains are still to young to rank Plus only 1 has been alive long enough to have gone thru one update.
    Keep up the hard work.
    Cheers

Even a couple but strong backlinks could give atleast PR2 to your site, make sure first you really got good contents for both of them then seek high PR backlinks...
