sparked an idea for me to implement an auto responder system to my mail server. After one month of inactivity it will turn on and say " I'm either dead, forgot my password, or in jail... thx bye"

Woah, never thought of it. :p No one has my password... so I guess either no one... or whoever sends Google a letter and tells them I'm dead and gets into my account. :p

Kind of an intersting topic this is.

An old mate from school I knew died earlier this year and within three months of him being dead his msn address was hacked and spam email was sent to everyone on his contact list. However his email addresses are still active as you can send email to it, but I doubt anyone would read his inbox, like his family et

Things like his myspace, facebook pages are still intact though.

Great topic really. Some of the things we (business owners) should remember to keep an updated list for spouse, partner, family, etc... whoever it is who will take over.

Best if you have a safe or safety deposit box too keep stuff in.

Those of you who don't have email related to business, I guess it wouldn't matter after you die.

I'll tell you what this is actually an interesting question. I've had to family members pass away in my days that used the internet quite frequently. The one was younger and of course had allot of online contacts. The other was my father who was a real estate agent.

The younger family member had a time stamp on his life. So he set someone up with account info to inform close online friends of any conclusion. My pops however died suddenly. My mother had his passwords naturally. He had a website and it was kept up for awhile after his death. So the email was used often..

Now me personally I don't like the idea of internet shrines. The idea of me dieing and a bunch of in memory crap being posted on my social network accounts just does not sit right.

So I actually have told people to insure my accounts are deleted.. I'd pretty much vanish :)

Did what I wrote not show up on your screen? Or was there not enough words for you to deem it a worthy response to the thread?

    Now that's something off-topic

Chances are low for porn subscription to business mail ids, IMO.

Personal mail ids after death.. ahh.. who cares!! They'll remain personal only :p
