    Hello...

Most other countries dont think that you have to be 21 to drink alcohal
and the main reason why teenagers in the USA abuse it is because they
    want what they cant have.

I think that if your old enough to VOTE then you should be old enough to Drink

You should come to the US. Everything that's fun is illegal which means there's a lot of opportunity to be cool.

I think if the age was lowered the appeal would be less! I say lower the drinking age to 18 but raise the drivers license age to 21 :)

that makes more sense to me!

In my opinion, nobody should restrict ANYONE about anything. Be it sex, drugs or alcohol. Its a personal choice. Government should not interfere in these matters.

I don't think illegal things are cool.. I just know that a lot of younger people do. When I was still a kid the very few kids that were smoking were looked at as being cool for trying. I didn't join in on it but I know the cool factor is probably the reason why most people start smoking and drinking.

It has nothing to do with age....that people think beer is appealing. To say drinking is fun is well nuts and to say getting drunk and losing all your senses, being vulnerable to anything is fun is stupid.

Nah 18 is a good age to be able to drink...Where i come from, you can drink alcohol at 18 from any restaurant or bar, but to be able to buy it in bottles or take home, you have to be 21....

If this question was asked on the English college forum 90% of the people would probably say it should be lowered. I started drinking when I was around 16 and I turned out just fine. At the end of the day if some kid wants to get hold of alcohol, he will, regardless of his age.

So?- How was that party of yours? No drinking AT ALL?
    OT:
Drop it to 18. It's the logical thing to do. Why have them hide while drinking or worse: come up with a fake id?..Much easier to have them pay legally for the alcohol. they'll do it anyways.

It needs to stay the same. It's the only way to keep some control over the insanity of young drinkers.

Kids need to learn their limits and learn the effects of it before they turn 21 - i do believe. But buying it at a younger age where responsibility and ethics are still being molded. Bad idea.

It is the peoples right to vote or not. and go to war unless drafted. I decided to wait until I was 21 to vote.

Nah, no need. If kids wanna drink, they will. Better leave it at 21.
