Whats the best way to obtain a lot of backlinks for your forum?

 

You can get links from PR2+ dofollow blogs to get good rankings.

 

Sorry, but I'm a newb and I don't quite know all the terms yet. What is "PR2"?

PR stands for Page Rank, which is used by google. Pages are ranked from 0 to 10 with ten being the highest. PR is used to a small extent as part of the algo to determine where you fall in the SERPs (search engine results page). Many people value high PR, personally I think it is overated and prefer to try and get backlinks from sites that are related to my sites content.

 

the best way is to follow your competetor sites, see where they have created backlinks, see if it is do follow with high pr, then create one there for your site.

 

REgister on other forums related then put signature of your forum and try to attract them

 

The best way is to tell everyone your forum is a dofollow forum

forum signature
dofollow blog commenting

social bookmarking

If your forum allow dofollow signature link then contact to bloggers or the website owners added the lists of forums. Request them to add your new forum and also directory submission and social bookmarking are beneficial.
