SEO is better i guess,I don't like submitting all my original content to article directories and then hoping visitors to click my links and visit my site.Article marketing is ok for the sites that are new but if u building for long term,its better to add content to your site itself.

If done correctly, SEO should bring more traffic to your site than articles. Submitting articles to directories will provide some targeted traffic to your site but I can't see how it can bring more traffic than SEO. I would invest some time into submitting articles but would concentrate on SEO.
