im not promoting or supporting any political candidate!

I Just want people to vote smart!

    I don't support either candidate!
tho i may dislike one more than the other ! but I do not support the other!

    Just Remember when you vote
Don't be Greedy or self centered!
Don't just vote pro choice, pro life, pro funds, pro guns
    vote for a president!
vote for some one you think can successfully control your life! your families lives, friend lives, and enemy's lives!
    Vote smart
don't vote for some one you don't know the facts about!
don't vote unless your sure you know the facts about all candidates!
I seriously doubt you will support any single candidate 100% seriously !

as I told my mom act like you ONLY have two choices to chose your kids or grand kids guarding /or acting parents!

and also do NOT trust everything or anything that you hear see read or watch on the internet or news, tv and newspaper for that matter!

remember anyone can make a website!
and majority of public news is bias!
    1 way or the other

OK...so before you make a choice, be sure to have all the facts before you. BUT, the source of those facts is almost inevitably from one of the locations you mentioned cannot be trusted...soooo, yes you are saying don't vote.

Look, I'm not even an active party in the US Election, but I would hazard a bet that I know more about the two candidates than the vast majority of Americans. I would agree with you that TV stations and websites have a bias - any person or organisation that clearly states "we have no bias" is lying - it is much better to upfront declare a bias then allow your readers/viewers to make their own judgement on your reporting with the knowledge of your own preference. BUT, you will be voting for a person who will have more power than any other single person on the planet, for the next 4 (possibly 8) years.

If you have kids in school, the next president could well make decisions that affect their education, and therefore their employment prospects, earning potential and life as a whole. The next president (judging comments both have made) is almost certain to interfere and adjust the US healthcare system - your health and emergency care in the event of an accident is in the hands of the man you vote for. And obviously, the next president will have decisions regarding taxation and security that will undoubtedly affect your own life. I am not in the US, but I have no doubt whatsoever that the next American president will have a massive impact on my life, over 3000 miles away.

This is NOT a popularity contest, this is not even about going along party lines as both candidates have a number of opinions that differ from their own respective traditional party policy. Look at both candidates, go to both of their own websites (where the bias is pretty darned clear). Ignore the negative crap flying at each of them, look at what THEY themselves state that they stand for.

When you have done this, THEN you can start looking at the other sources around, THEN you can begin to form an opinion and THEN you can make an informed decision about who YOU should vote for. But for God's sake, VOTE - the USA has spent BILLIONS in the last 4 decades spreading their own version of "democracy" around the planet - it would be the ultimate slap in the face to your service men (and women) and the people in countries affected by this democracy spreading policy if Americans didn't even bother to vote in their own elections.

YOUR VOTE MATTERS, YOUR OPINION MATTERS AND YOU HAVE YOUR OWN MIND - go do your research, make your mind up and I pray to God that you get it right. lol

    *******************************************
DISCLAIMER - my own bias, I believe, has not affected the above, but I'm pretty sure when I re-read it in a short while I will recognise my own leanings in the text, so for clarity sakes, if I were able to vote, I would be an Obama supporter. I hope the above is a balanced argument though - no doubt someone will verbally slap me if it isn't!

Why would I want someone to 'control' my life?

You do not need to be informed to vote. A person is allowed to vote for either candidate for any reason. For Example: My neighbor is voting for Obama because he is biracial and claims that is the only reason. There is an elderly women that said she is voting for McCain because of his age. Each person has there reasons.

That's fine, but if you haven't made your mind up and have no reasons, NOT voting is an abdication of duty - there are in the modern age so many different methods of communication between individuals and candidates that the ignorance excuse doesn't wash.

If you have chosen to vote for one because he is left handed, that's fine, so long as having a left handed president is a high priority for you. What is important to one person is irrelevant to another. My post was to counter the argument that you shouldn't vote at all. Not voting and complaining about the result after the event is like not wearing a condom then being surprised when your girlfriend gets pregnant.

So, you are basically advocating that folks vote for the one who would be the best dictator?

I award this thread zero points.

I already voted in the early ballot, it is much easier to do at home. It took me about 6 hrs because I was looking up all the voting records and statements they have made. Before voting, I wasn't 100% committed to any candidate. After some consideration, I decided on Barr for president. On the other positions, I had a higher % of Libertarians, but I also voted for a few Republicans and Democrats. I am not too familar with the judges and couldn't find a lot of personal information about them available on the internet, so I judged them based on how many complaints they have had against them. But yeah, you can find a lot of good information on the internet regarding voting records and where the candidates stand on various issues.

I dont think u should vote for anyone if you dont know why your supporting them!
tho many people vote for 1 or 2 reasons that have no effect on the people of America or the world!
    and it sickens me!

Im just simply saying dont be ignorant when you vote!
make sure you honestly know why you want to give them your vote!
vote for some one you will stand behind in thick and thin!

You wouldn't or shouldn't but you have no choice Regardless of who you vote for!
I think a president does have control of lives!
not saying they control you but they do have a major impact on your lives!

    NO not at all !
    reread and rethink!
sorry if i made it sound that way!
im in no way saying who you should vote for just how i think you should pick em!
