I don't think anyone else has suggested it, but why don't you just get your own hosting and download the full version or Wordpress. You can do SO MUCH with the full version and you control everything. Just an idea.
Wordpress is MUCH better, and much more professional. It's also best to have your own domain, you will never make decent money without your own domain.
This issue is being discussed every now and then, but it is still nice to hear different point of views. So, here's mine. I started my blogs at Blogspot Blogger a year ago, and I like their service so far. But when I became more serious in blogging, I bought a domain name via WP and get paid hosting service. For me, if you are new and you want free service without so much technical stuff, then Blogspot Blogger is for you. But later on, transfer to WP or get a new blog using WP.
Wordpress.com is relatively new but has a lot of fancy themes and plugins. Blogger is easier to setup and adsense ready. But I usually reluctance to click on url that has .blogspot.com type of sites.
Wordpress is way better than Blogger and has a great support. With plugins you can do lot of things with wordpress.
Blogger is simple and reliable. Wordpress has lot of plugin support. If you are goin 4 advanced blog then try out Wordpress. It does not depend on which bloging platform do u use, all it matters about revelant content which you provide.
I choose WordPress for my blog platform, it has easily in use and had more plug-ins, can owned by my-self
Let's look at it this way, Blogger : free, easy, indexed fast in Google, suitable for beginner, the easiest way to obtain your Adsense id, limited facilities, you're at the mercy of Blogger/Google. Wordpress(.org) : paid hosting, paid domain names, more professional, superb flexibility (plugins, templates, etc.), the right way to pursuit high income from Adsense, you're independent. . . .
I like wordpress because it's more complicated and feature rich... Blogger is easier, and that's pretty much it
