Get links on related/authority sites in your niche.

    Comment on related blogs.

Post on related forums with a link in your sig.

Provide fresh, quality content that others will virally link to. This will provide you with the deep linking, natural structure that will provide you with a higher ranking.

Of course, higher PR links will doing more than low PR links.

Linking from Squidoo pages, Hubpages, and articles all directly to one page (ie. the homepage) is an unnatural linking structure. Following the deep linking strategy, it will ultimately provide higher rankings.

No quick and easy way to stay atop sadly.

It always happen with search engine. Older contents goes down, newer contents get to the top; unless it's a unique niche.

I gave this simple technique to a guy in another forum and he is going gang busters with it, so try it for yourself....

Learn to use the power of web 2.0 sites linking to your websites, this will push you up in the SERP's.

This also drives traffic from clickthroughs but also build solid backlinks.

Because many sites like squidoo are authority sites in google's eyes, piggy back on the back of this and give your video's decent link power.

Many people I speak to are not aware that squidoo now has dofollow tags again, so that is a great way to get started.

    Try this out.

    1. Register a squidoo site, targeting your main keyword, throw up a bit of content and embedd a video.

    2. As above but for hubpages.

    3. As above for weebly.com

    4. As above for a wordpress.com (register with your keyword).

Use tags that consist of your main keywords and related content.

Then digg your youtube a/c (digg.com) and back this up with propeller.com

    Now for the fun part.

Create a friendfeed.com account, and link all these accounts to that (this gives you instant backlinks). (Friendfeed now has nofollow tags, so may need to find another site maybe swurl.com)

Then submitt the rss feed for all of these to feedagg.com (for starters).

    End of part 1.

You now have a heap of backlinks to your website.

    Part 2.

Do something similar in part #1, but link to each of the web sites you setup in part #1.

Do not put your direct links to your website on these, instead link only to the sites you created in part #1

(including the digg.com and propeller link).

Use another keyword this time (mix it up).

    Do that for each website.

    Submit feeds, etc again.

Then sit back and watch the traffic start to flow in and your rankings in the search engine to explode.

Prepare to be amazed. I have a more complex version (actually a number of versions) of this I use, and the results are often staggering.

e.g. To page 1 for competitive keywords in a day, decent traffic, etc.

If you get stuck on aspects of this, check out my free rss and tag video's on my site. It shows you exactly how to use the tools.

Also if you start getting the results (and you will unless you're only targetting keywords with massive competition) go to a part #3, which links only to sites in part #2.

Heaps of free video's on my site explaining it if you need more info, but there is enough here to get you going.

This will also drive your competitors crazy, because they won't understand why you rank so well, because they won't see all the networks of links you have built up (not hard to find them, but most people in my experience don't check).

    Best of luck!

    Cheers

    +rep Tim.

I would love to post this at my forum, or have you post it (sig). Not often people put up gold, many including myself have but they get lost extremely quick while they should be stickies instead... (i'd make this a sticky at my forum).

Cheers to you for helping the community with real deal yet simple goodies new comers (and pros) can munch on.

Appreciate the rep. Just registered and did just that... Hope I didn't waffle on too much...

Got lots more gold to add, just have to find some time to do it...

Only so many hours in the day.

I just grab 5 minutes here and there to help out.

    Cheers

Great tips Tim, but there are few problems.

Firstly, Hubpages have nofollow tags on their links. So there is no point of using them for backlinks.

Also Wordpress is pretty useless as well, because often they consider your blog as "unnatural" or affiliate blog...

Hm, that's odd. I always remember Hubpages having a DoFollow attribute.

I'm not certain, maybe someone else can speak to this, but I think the follow/nofollow with hubpages has to do with the internal page scoring. I recall reading that lower scoring pages get nofollow - I'm not certain where I saw that though.

True. Just checked my hub, it had 64 Hubscore and the link was nofollow. Checked other hub with hubscore 74, link was dofollow, so it depends on your hubscore. I guess if it's >70 then your link is dofollow.

    You need back links
    Write articles
    Submit to directories
    Blog Comments
    Social book marks.

Thanks for clearing that up :)

So as you can see, unless your hub has a good score, which is often difficult to get, there is no point of using Hubpages.

    Hi,

    I wouldn't agree with that.

For backlinks yes, it may not be useful.

But for ranking in google, it's certainly worth it, traffic, traffic, traffic.

I am a bit embarrassed to share this one, but in January I put up a hubpages website, linked it to another site, and never went back to it.

Happened to see an email come in (newsletter, etc) from hubpages and it was casually telling me visitors to your site 24,000 ! Yes 24 thousand visitors.

Since January I've had 24,000 visitors to a website that took about 20 minutes to setup.

Can you believe it? And on a free website.

The embarrassing thing is I was planning on coming back to it, to monetize it. There was no direct monetization on it. None!

I've now changed it to at least have adsense on there, and am looking to monetize it.

That's what you get when you have too many web 2.0 sites out there.

Looks like your right about the nofollow, I have hub with a score of 68 and it's still no follow.

Going to be worth pushing it over the line to 70 to see if I can make use of that traffic elsewhere.

    Cheers

    One simple question.

Isn't it better to build backlinks to a single page (for example homepage) ?

So that page will have the most number of backlinks and will rank higher...

    Oops, I missed this reply.

Yes agreed about hub pages until you get over 70 as a score.

I am sure I've seen dofollow's for hubs for less than that, but can't be sure.

Wordpress is anything but useless. Trust me it's vitally important.

It's just once of the sites that helped me get a brand new domain to have multiple Page rank 4's (different pages) in 22 days! (Check out my tag's video on my blog for info about using tags with wordpress).

    Absolute gold.

Don't use it as a money page, just put a decent article up with a link to your money page, then your unlikely to get flagged.

wordpress.com pages rank incredibly well in the search engines!

    Cheers
