thanks for the peice of info mate

bad to know about your loss

but i suppose paypal doesnt gets into such matters where intangible/non-physical goods are involved

i also filed a claim for a guy who sold me a warez theme here on dp itself but paypal closed it saying that they dont interfere in matters where non-physical goods payments are involved :(

Thank you very much for the information and very sorry to hear what happened to you. I have noticed this type of stuff happening more often now. Paypal really needs to do something about this. They give the account the money back, you have already provided all the information for the buyer, so you lose and the person who stold the account gets away easily.

What happens to the actual owner of the account? He gets his money back. So the only loser is the seller who did nothing wrong! Thats terrible.

Mmmm I am a little confused on this issue ....

I purchased 2 domains from a scammer the other day, paid $30, then he PMed me and said thanks for the $30 and I will spend it wisely .... so I immediately opened a dispute and froze the funds ....

    He's a new PayPal account/user ....

So who will win ? Will I get my money back ? or does he automatically win ?

Mmmmm I immediately froze the funds, as after several discussions he told me that he didn't have a way to withdraw the funds - ie. a bank account or credit card assigned to the account (he wanted to use another payment processor) - so in knowing that I knew if I acted before he could withdraw the funds - then the cash would be frozen in his account.

Paypal isnt as safe anymore. I receive those fake paypal emails once in a while and people fall for this all the time, thats how they lose their passwords. I just feel as the seller it sucks to have to take the full loss while the account owner and the thief don't get penalized. The account owner gets his password stolen so I feel bad for him, can happen to anyone but the thief def gets away. Hate that we are the only losers.

Yeah it kills automatic checkouts, I sell scripts on my site, after payment they are directed to download, so I guess we are not covered - they can buy the script, check out, download and then I loose the cash .... sucks.

Yeah all you can basically do is neg -Trader him back and red rep the SOB.

I know the feeling, I was on the buying end, bought a site, the SOB I bought it from hacks it, hijacks it, and took it all back, kept spamming users, and resellling the DB. No refunds on digital goods, so the ONLY way you can win the dispute is if it is an unauthroized transaction.

You can report him and with some proof - he'll be banned - we did it yesterday to a scammer.

Then I.P and emails will be reported and blocked from DP.
