Promoting a Music Forum

I started a music forum and am looking for some possible ways to promote it.

So im here asking you guys, what are some ways that I can promote my new music forum?

8 - Submit to Tons of Search Engines for Quicker Indexing into Google

 

create a myspace account for your music community and chat with some artists on their comment page.

before you start promoting, make sure that when a visitor arrives at your site they will want to sign up e.g. give something for free or do something that none of your competitors do.

 

main thing is just networking. I have started a few large music forums myself and I the best way to get it started is networking with people you know who would want to join the forum and get them started. The next step is using myspace or whichever social network and start recruiting people for the forum there. A big thing is word of mouth as far as forums. Also submit to directories, do blog commenting, and post on other forums that have the same niche as yours (with your link in sig).

 

May I get the link to the forums? Just want to check it out.

So MySpace, Facebook, Social Networking in general is great way to promote, I see.

 

Offer attractive content , service for your visitors/members.
They will come back again and again.
Refer to and obsever ohter music forums to find out the secret to promote music site/forums.

 

Can you think of some incentives that I may be able to offer?

 

You can hold a contest like vote for best artist.

 

Try and affiliate with other forums that are huge. In addition, register on those huge music forums and put your link in your sig, and post around.

 

Offer that bands a thread or section where they can upload a few mp3s for download or something similar. im a musician.

What is your genre? or are you gearing it to all.

 

You can hold a contest monthly where the winner is the one who posts the most and he will get money, that will make people want to come to to your forum and post

 

that's good. or they can be the featured musician/band for a few weeks.

 

ture. even though some people don't like a certain topic or interest they talk shit and basically put down the other end. it's pretty sad.

But of course there are those of us who just avoid it if we don't like it - I accept it for what it is and move on. I feel there is no reason to fuel or even feed a fire

 

I would make a myspace profiles promoting your Music Forum then gather all msuicians Friend ID's and either message or make them your friend
