How can I find out who this is-- could be a competitor and what can I do about it. This is the persons address 205.188.116.16 cache-dtc-aa12.proxy.aol.com Thanks, Alicia
Do IP exclusion for that IP address if you see clicks coming from that IP all the time or file a click fraud report with Google adwords team.
In any case the clicks would be filtered... so dont' worry that you'll have to pay for it... try informing google and they'll let u know what exactly is happening
You kindly report about this to google adwords team. You will not have to pay for the clicks. Google refunds the money if they identify the clicks to be fraud. I think in your case they will. Again, I do not think at first place google would have charged you for these.
Thank you all If I wanted to find out who did this .. isn't there software or a website I can go to or use. If in fact it is a competitor.. it would be a good thing to know Alicia
Just keep an eye on that IP and the site from where the click is coming from... but dont worry.. the clicks will automatically gets filtered as Invalid clicks, and you will not be charged for those clicks
I support - there must be some option in Panel.. like we can control CPC with the help of budget controller in same way there must be some option to limit the number of clicks from some particular IP or location. This is very hard to find that person... in fact I feel it is not possible to stop it..
Will this help? You might try contacting AOL but I doubt if they can help unless you have more info. It looks like it is some dummy who has an AOL account and they are using a proxy so you probably won't find the real culprit. By the way, I went to http://ws.arin.net/whois/ and entered the IP addr to get the above info. Zeek
Zeek, thanks a lot for the information........they haven't continued.. it must have been a fluke If the address you found was a tile competitor then I would be concerned,, Most of my competitors in the tile business are small mom and pops and in this economy .. their time would be better spent talking to architects : ) Alicia
