i am using google apps to use in my office i have recently problem that gmail considers my hosted gmail service as spam messages especially emails with attachments. do you have any advice to deal with this issue?
Actually I am also facing the same thing. Whenever I receive emails from my forum they go to SPAM folder, even I select them and choose "Not SPam" but they again appear in SPAM folder.
A friend of mine who work with Google recently suggested that I used Google apps and gmail for one of my community portal. After seeing this thread - I might have to think again. One question though - are you guys facing this problem because you used it in your own self hosted server? I don't seem to face any problem with gmail.
Don't worry mate..There is no need to contact google... Just open ur account,Click "setting" button(on the right)--- "Filters"---Create a new filter --- Type in your email --- next step --- then choose this option "Never send it to Spam" Good luck!
This is not an issue with Gmail, as you can read from the quoted post above .. it's an issue of knowing how to use Gmail or any other email service
thanks guys for your nice suggestion and information it is not problem that i create a filter, it is a problem from my clients side that they donot filter me as spam but my message comes to their spam box. for your information i use google apps my clients use gmail so now what?
is it paid service one for gmail apps?? maybe ur mx records DNS is considered as spam in google, so probably you might need to ask ur hosting company for that.
gmail and google apps should ideally be using the same source for detecting spam..right? because gmail never gave a problem..but google apps is still giving me issues..may be because I have not configured it properly or something..
it is free service so you might be right with the mx records i will try to find out more information with mx. thanks for all your help
you are welcome. if you do not set up MS records properly, gmail records might reject your DNS.. please see A records, CNAME and MX records, if your hosting is linux based and cpanel 11 version, I believe you have to set up 4 MX records in total. And you can set it up yourself. DNS propagation would take about 4-12 hours after you make changes. hope that helps.
A lot of gmail features and tweaks are discussed in very great depth. I received this ebook and have written about it on my blog. The download link is present there. sahilrewari.com Its called gmail hacking. Download via UploadJockey and Rapidshare.
i set mx record according to what google requests. one of my friend tell me i might have problem with domain - here is what he advises "Most domains send outbound mail through a relatively small number of servers. Domains should describe that set of servers in an SPF record in their DNS. Internet email receivers can then reject forged messages which don't come from an envelope sender domain's approved servers" i have no idea now what to do - can you again help?
