Does this exist?

I'm at university at the moment and quite a few programs are blocked for security reasons.

I'm looking for a site that downloads the torrent you want, zips the file and then gives you a url to download the .zip?

Does this exist or a similar service which would mean I didn't need to use a torrent client?

    Thanks
    -Dan

No I don't know of any such service. If your school is throttling torrents just internet elsewhere or get yourself a usenet subscription.

I do not think so.. if your uni has blocked such .torrent extensions, I don't think that's the only thing, they may even block torrent ports as well..

And to be honest, downloading torrents on educational networks are highly inappropriate.. Maybe, you probably would like to get public ISP for downloading torrents..

    just my 2 cents.

Not all torrents are illegal torrents!

I live in university accommodation which provides the wireless internet on campus for us to use freely, so untill I move out in June 09 I will not be able to use a private ISP.

Seems to me you'd have to bypass your schools Internet connection. I see a lot of these new laptops coming out with a wireless internet connection optional module, might that help? being you'd be getting your connection from someplace besides the school?

    You can do this

    1) Buy A Torrentflux Hosting or A Seedbox
    2) Download the torrents there
    3) The files will be downloaded by the server
    4) Download the individual file

Absolutely, but most torrents are. I am not stereotype, but once it's a torrent file, it has to be considered to treat as torrent file. Whether you download featured legal torrents or MPAA banned materials...

Once a site has downloaded torrent and zip and share at file sharing sites, they are no longer considered as torrents, and it's no longer P2P mode. That means, you probably have to search same niche forums those upload to file sharing servers. I have seen many forums with that kind of individual uploads to share particular files.. much easier..

    hope that helps

The best way to bypass this issue would be to use a vpn conecction this will be encrypted and no one will know whats going trough it, just do a google search vpn service you will see some companies who offer this service price range between 5 to 10 dlls per month hope that helps.
