I believe before I go into much more detail it is appropriate to give a little bit of information about myself. My name is Nicholas Kneuper, born and raised on the East Coast. I am 19 years old and a freshman attending the University of Tennessee. I have a girlfriend of about a year and things are getting pretty serious. Although I have made *Estimation* between 1k-2k on the internet, I do not consider myself knowledgeable at all about the inner workings of monetizing the web. The money I made was mostly through creativity and a knack for playing the middle man on my part.

I have been told time AND time again that I should live life how I want, and live it to the fullest. My whole life has been decided for me and I know feel that I have a sense of freedom. My girlfriend, to spare the finer details, has made an impact on a lot of friends/relatives lives. She recently found out that her godfather built her a guesthouse in Maine, which she can use to get her life started. She is currently attending college as well. She recently asked me if I would want to move into that guesthouse with her for about 6 months until we could get a place of our own. There would be no rent, she would work in town, and I would be free to do what I want to do with my life.. I have known for 4-5 years that what I want to do is become an online entrepreneur.

Now I apologize for the lack of professionalism in the previous paragraphs, I merely wanted to provide a backdrop so that interested persons could better understand my background/seriousness. One thing I would like to ask, however, is please don't tell me to stay in college. I am 19 years old, I have my whole life to live. If I eventually decide this is not the thing for me I can go right back to college, only losing a semester. Now on to the serious part..

I am looking for work online. More importantly, I am looking for someone that is successful online and needs someone to help them out. I may not have many practical skills or experience online but I can tell you that I am hardworking, motivated, and extremely innovative. Ideally, I would want to work with someone that would be willing to teach me the inner workings of the web. No, I don't want you to babysit me or teach me step by step how to do everything. You are not a professor. I want someone that will give me challenging and hard work to complete and be able to help/teach me if I run into problems. I have many great ideas for business's online, but I am smart enough to realize I do not have the experience to do this at the time.

If someone is feeling overwhelmed with their work, or would like to do less work, please contact me!

What do you get out of it? A hard worker for however much you want to pay, and if you are interested a future partner with many potentially good ideas.

What do I get out of it? The experience I need to be successful online and to make a living.

Do I have any skills? : I consider myself a very good manager/middle man. I am an extremely good people person and that is the sole reason I've been successful online so far. I also consider myself a very quick learner.

Please Note: I know that there is a stereotype of sorts that young adults in college may not be serious about working and want to go out and party all the time . I will be the first to admit that I partyed way to hard in high school and frankly its out of my system. I want to get serious about my life.

Your much better off just teaching yourself. No one is going to mentor your and teach you everything free of charge, even if you are willing to work for them. All you are going to get is people who want to charge you $100/week so you can be taught their forex scheme that will lose money. Come up with an innovative idea and build on it, maybe you won't succeed your first time but after a few tries you will get it.

I agree with the previous comment. Your best options is to explore, read and learn. You will get to know what interests you and where you excel. Try a few low key/low risk ideas to find your way around. I think it will soon become natural to you and you will get a clearer view of how to go about your on-line career.

    Nicholas,

There a lot of ways to make money as an online entrepreneur. What areas of the internet interest you? Also, what skills (not just pertaining to computers/internet) do you currently have?

First off - good on you for seeing outside the college moud! College is great if you want to be an employee or if you just want to learn for the sake of learning and yes college will still be there in a few years if you decide to go back!

2nd off the above comments are right - don't expect to find a mentor to work for per se - that doesn't happen on the internet - its a trust thing and dog-eat-dog world - no one shows their money making sites to others without the risk of being reported and either shut down or competed with.

There is a lot of misinformation out there and a lot of people just providing information so they can get rich! I'd suggest that you start with bloggerunleashed.com and http://makemoneyforbeginners.blogspot.com/

A very interesting read. I am under 18 years of age and have made just over $15,000 on the internet alone. It's a great source and I applaud you for giving it a go. If you don't mind me asking, what exactly did you study at college? Could it help you on the World Wide Web? Use the information you already know to start a creative and unique startup.

Well. I think that it depends on what you want. Do you want to make money? Or do you want to do what you like? As far as money gos, I'd say your best chance is to get into the web app craze. Develop some nifty web app and if you are lucky and you do you people work you are so good at then it will catch on and you will be golden. There are things on the internet anyone can do to make a living, and there are more specialized things like .NET development. Decide whether you want to do something in a specialized area, or if you want to fit in with the other millions of people on the internet trying to make a living. PM me and we can talk. You seem like a cool person, and I want to hear more about your situation:)

First of all, I appreciate the interest everyone has given. Thank you!

Thanks for the post. I dabbled in the e-book thing myself, made about 250$, so I know that the majority of e-books/coaching gigs are scams, or at the very least wont teach you what you need.

I'll definitely look into teaching myself! I do have a few potentially good ideas, but I don't want to screw them up due to my lack of internet knowledge. I'd rather them screw up due to them being bad ideas :p.

I feel like I have been doing that, and I was almost on the verge of breaking into the industry but then social aspects of my life dragged me back down. I do have a good idea of areas that I excel in, so I will pursue some further options down that path. Thanks!

I am very interested in site development and management. I feel like i'm leaning less towards adsense/affiliate earnings and more towards providing services and such (Although a few of my idea would be earning their revenue from adsense).

As to what skills I have? I consider myself a very good writer, although my grammar could use some touching up. I also consider myself very innovative and creative. I can often think of unique and new ways to approach a situation. I am a very good people person and can be very good at managing different people accomplishing different tasks.

    Hope that helps!

I did figure that there would possibly be some issues with that. I appreciate the blog links and I will definitely check them out! *Wouldn't their methods be saturated, however?*

Haha, well the sad thing is the first year of college is almost exclusively general education. I'm not taking any business courses as the majority require pre-reqs. I did get an A on my biology exam haha! I do have a lot of ideas for start ups. My issue is that I realize how competitive the industry is and if I release a start up right now I am almost positive someone will see that idea and capitalize on it with their superior skills!

It's a six month trial period. If it doesn't work out, then I can go and finish college. If it does work out, then I saved myself 4 years and 50 grand :).

Vols suck!!!! :] (I'm from Tennessee originally)

So where exactly do you expect to be in this 6 month period? What exactly are you hoping to learn?

I 100% disagree with the people that are saying "read blogs, forums, ...", you'll be chasing your tail for a long time doing that. My advice, throw some shit up against the wall and see what sticks. You'll lose some money and time but you'll gain experience which is more valuable than either.

You are right, you definitely don't want to launch any of your start-ups when you're inexperienced and a poor college kid. You're idea will be stolen in a heartbeat. That said, many of the biggest sites on the net were developed by college classmates working on graduate level projects. There is something to be said for networking with the smart kids.

I have been looking around the college a lot lately for like-minded people. Maybe i'm looking in the wrong places?
