Russian stock market means nothing and I'll tell you why, because the banking system in Russia is WEAK, unlike in the west. So, I didnt feel anything and dont give a damn about the Micex or RTS Another words, an average russian dont feel it, and I dont give a damn of those numbers.

The Soviet Union was a superpower also when all of Eastern and Central Europe provided manpower and industrial goods.

Russia has recently flown offensive bombers to Venzuela, threatened Poland over the US plans to station anti-ballistic missles, provided Iran with nuclear technology, invaded Georgia, used natural gas as a weapon against Europe, and has been staging strategic 'nuclear' war games.
