Good for him... not everybody can talk whatever they please..
We are not animals. There is a law to follow and not meant to
    be broken.

Like it or not freedom of speech have their limit.

I've read his blog before (I'm a Malaysian), and there is no proof
on what he said... Give me the proof and maybe I will believe him..

Hi Ceejay77, yes that's true. In order to ascertain whether or not RPK has exceeded those limits, he needs to be released from the ISA and be allowed to defend himself in a court of law. ian

    Bdavid, look again closely:

"Some 3,600 people were polled (49 per cent Malays, 31 per cent Chinese, 8 per cent Indians, 6 per cent Sabah Bumiputeras and 6 per cent Sarawak Bumiputeras)."

These sample group is representative of the Malaysian community, ask any research professional and they will tell you this -- as someone who has done many surveys, you should know this.

I'm not here to argue with anyone and I apologise if I have offended you in any way. Please do however, follow through on what you said you will do. ian

Yes, we are not animals -- so why are they treating RPK like one? You do not put a human being in prison without giving him a chance to defend himself in a court of law.

Agreed. So release RPK from ISA and let him have his day in court, so that he can defend himself and show proof. ian

Yes I know you have told me that, but you were coating it from some other site and not from Merdeka Ceter itself. As I said I've tried to find it from the source but it was not there. I have even called and meeting is in the mid of arrangement. So read my post carefully before trying to blindly shoot me with your bullet :)

What if I say "Someone told me you're just a moron, and I strongly believe so since the guy who told me is my best friend".. So will it be right for me to tell everyone that you're a moron just because my buddy said so.. :) Luckily I'm not that kind of person.. I rather check it myself.. that should be the right way right.. :)

Another thing. Even if the survey said so, that doesn't exactly reflecting 100% Malaysian views. Only handful number of samples. That's why I need to check with them and get the detail report on few things including sampling method, demographic, age group, etc. I'll then gives my professional comments..

So tell me something.. when he write in his blog does that gives him the rights to slander. He have been called several times by the Police department and yet he failed to come up with any proves neither did he made any police report on his allegations.. He should made a police report and let the court decide and not to let the public play with the mind games.. it sounds like provocation to me :)

Bdavid, it's obvious that you have never done professional research before. If you did, you would realise that a sample group of 1,000 people and above is an excellent sample group for statistical analysis. So tell me, what is a p-value and why is it significant to research findings? What does the beta score tell you? What does the t score signify? What is the purpose of running regression analysis? ian

Bdavid, who are you really? You keep repeating wild assumptions already answered in previous postings, if not the original post itself. You make a lot of wild assumptions that don't jive with the real facts. Please do not twist the facts and words to suit your objectives, whatever they may be. Get your facts straight before you comment here again because your credibility is going fast. Remember your promise to share in this thread what you find out from Merdeka Centre. ian

The worse part is that he was detained during the holy fasting month of Ramadan, close to his birthday and all through the Hari Raya celebrations. If you have a spouse and kids, you know how bad that sucks.

RPK, being RPK, writes humorously about his prison experience, which you can read here:

Levampire, that's a tough question to answer. I think he wanted to show all Malaysians that if we want a peaceful and just society, then we really need to stand up courageously and fight for what we believe in, without the need to hide in fear. Even when he knew he was going to be arrested, he refused to go into hiding -- that's RPK for you.

I was just trying to let everybody knows the whole story from A-Z.. While you on the other hand was trying to create sympathy & trying to hide the rest of the story.

As I was saying, I also disagree with ISA, especially if it was done to an innocent people. There're people who did not deserved to be detained, like what had happened to DS Anwar Ibrahim. And there are people who do, like RPK. We just have to know how to differentiate. Furthermore there're also people who were once in ISA and now are part of our MP. Though some totally disagree with the ISA, but there are some who even acknowledge the need to keep ISA in place.

All these information need to be shared so people would be able to make a wise decision on the current issue.

As for me if this act were meant for DS Anwar Ibrahim that was happened years back, I would definitely be the first to support you. Unfortunately I don't see why the same treat should be given to RPK.

A true democracy should provide room to express difference of opinions and imprisonment without trial is not good for justice...

Is that a joke? You think you can create and update a blog and no one will be able to figure out who you are? What should he do, drive around looking for unsecured networks and post from them?
