    It all depends on what you want to do as a tourist. See cathedrals and visit museums? Visit ancient sites? See theatrical productions? Ski? Lay on a beach?

    If a "tourist" wants to TOUR and see a variety of sites and take in a number of cultural activities, I think older cities of the world are the place to go. London, Paris, Rome, and Athens in Europe.

    In the U.S., I would say New York, Chicago, Boston, and Washington, D.C.

    Travelling around the earth is super exciting !
    It need finanace ability to support the travel.
