A new unbeatable threat for proxy sites?

Recently I have started to see sites as G.ho.st, check http://www.g.ho.st/home/KeyFeatures.jsp?language=en that offer for free (and without any ads) a virtual computer for users.
With that "computer" people can surf, store/download files, listen to music, share info with friends, etc., such as if it were a laptop inside a web browser.
Those sites run inside cloud computing platforms that can handle massive traffic easily!!!.

Will they be a serious threat for proxy sites in the near future? What do you think?

not really it's just one site. No big deal, plus there's no surf annoynimously box anywhere.

If people start to use that as a proxy, it won't be adless/free for very long. The cost running a proxy can be daunting especially considering this software was not written for that and wil, most likely eat up their servers.

It's no real threat to be honest. That's just one site, and there are probably millions of proxy sites out there, so if that single site you mentioned gets blocked then they'll have to go back to proxies to surf passed web blocks and filters anyway.

There are bigger threats to proxy sites out there, for example google recently sponsored a service that basically reroutes you through 3 separate computers to antonymous and protect yourself like a proxy. All for free and without ads.

Well I don't think their servers will suffer too much because it works upon a utility computing platform provided by Amazon, but it is interesting to analyze how they will monetize that service
