My blog was in the top 2million-3million for a long time, and finally has achieved an Alexa rank of 770k. I am aiming for 100k sometime in the future, but for now I am pleased with this rating which I have gained.
Dude, Alexa, can be deceptive - if you have the toolbar installed on your PC and you surf your site a fair bit its easy to artifically inflate your ranking
Alexa is never accurate. some people with 300k will have thousands of visitors per day. I have a theory where it is calculated from the popularity of your keywords vs your traffic. Or it could be the toolbar thing someone already mentioned.
Alexa is just an indication and not an accurate measurement However sites at the range of 5000 and below are checked manually
Alexa is always never accurate. Look at SmashingApps.com. According to the website, it says that it gets about 460,000/month but has an alexa rank of 139,000 as of Oct 14 whereas my blog - KidTechGuru.blogspot.com has an alexa rank of 128,000 but a monthly visitor count of only 15,000.
alexa is not measured accurate for the sites above 100k , its just a number game, leave the thought and work more on developing your blog with some nice content . Best of Luck
It depends how many of those visitors have the alexa toolbar installed in their browser when they visit your site. My site has a rank of 400,000 and I get about 500 visits a day.
